TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER
(Inspiration from Mathew 10:29-31)
by: Randy B. Bataanon
Are not the two sparrows sold for a single penny?
Apart from God's will they never fall and they never weary
Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered, so you don't have to worry
You are worth more than many sparrows and Jesus cares for thee
Away from home by thousand miles
I received a call that my father died
Though I have those thirsts, yes I can't deny
Yet I know that in heaven, he'll never sigh
He live a life with thorns and vines
He fall and rise a hundred times
The man of songs and old guitar
He can now behold the Savior's eyes
Amidst the pain of fading flesh
He grabs the phone to hear the creed
Prepare your heart, I said indeed
Until you see our Savior's face
With silent prayer and song of praise
He gave his life to Savior's feet
He said I'm ready with no regrets
He shouts; thank you Jesus for grace and bliss
My high respect and sharp salute
To all the fathers, I pay my tribute
The untold feat shall not be void
For they are written in heaven's book
I wipe the thirst and say goodbye
We'll see each other again for just a while
We're just pilgrims in this foreign land
Until we finish the trying time
