The limo arrived in front of a classy looking hospital, perhaps the most expensive one in town. Angie was about to open the doors when someone on the other side got to it first.
"Please, Miss." It was the driver. Angie was seriously starting to wonder who this Ryan Chadwick was. First, it was the humongous, nearly impossible house, then the limo, and then a driver! Whoever he was, he must be seriously rich. Not that Angie's family wasn't rich, just that she wasn't used to such luxuries. She has a rather simple and boring life, as she always said.
"You coming?" Ryan said in the same emotionless voice. Angie realized that Ryan was again ahead of her. He turned around and continued walking. He passed the reception and continued walking down the hall. It seemed to Angie that Ryan was really familiar with this place, and he walked around as if he actually owned the place.
It turned out he did.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Chadwick. Is there anything I could asist you with today?" said a pleasant looking doctor in a pleasant sounding voice.
Ryan looked over to Angie and back at the doctor. "It seems that... she had suffered amnesia." At his few last words, Ryan turned to look at Angie again. Angie couldn't stand his intense stare and finally had to turn her head away.
"Well, let us have a look. Miss, can you please follow me..." the doctor turned and gestured Angie towards the door. Angie suddenly felt afraid. She felt safe in Ryan's presence, but now she seriously was facing strangers and she never really liked hospitals and its creepy looking equipments anyways. She felt nervous and turned around to look at Ryan again, just to see if he was going to follow them. It seemed like he wasn't going to. He was already comfortable sitting in one of the arm chairs and reading some kind of magazine he picked up from the doctor's desk. Sensing Angie's stare, Ryan looked up and met her gaze. Angie tried to hide her worried expression when she saw that he was looking at her too. But Ryan could still see a tint of fear in her eyes. He suddenly felt his heart skip a beat. He never... experienced this feeling before... no... this should not be happening to him... he has no emotions... but...he stood up from his chair and said in his same emotionless voice, "It's going to be okay." His looked at Angie, trying to reassure her. Angie turned around and finally left with the doctor. Ryan was about to sit down again when he saw that the door wasn't completely closed and there was a gap. He felt a funny tingly feeling and he felt a sudden urge, a need, to open the door, just to check if... No, this should not be him. No emotions, he reminded himself. No emotions. But he couldn't help it. He finally stood up and swung open the door. He looked towards his right and saw Angie and the doctor still heading down the hallway. He closed the door gently. It seemed like she's okay. Ryan caught himself feeling relieved. Relieved? He didn't understand. He sat back down on the chair and buried his head into the magazine again.
