Walking through the dark forest, my bare feet burned from the sticks and rocks along the track. Rain poured down soaking my hair as it dribbled down my nose and off my chin. I didn't know where I was going. A black mass of smoke appeared a couple meters in front of me. I stopped to watch it twist and turn in on itself until it started to form into a sold object. Pale white feet, hands, brown quiffed hair and dark chocolate/golden eyes. Beauty was an understatement.
"Nathan?" My voice came raspy and deep as if I had just woken from sleep. He didn't say anything but an amazing smile graced his face. Beautiful! His body started to fade. Like looking at someone through a fogged window. The ground crumbled away beneath me. I fell through the air my stomach plunged as the darkness seeped into my vision.

I woke suddenly, my surroundings coming into focus. A soft orange glow brightened the room. It was a dream! I was dreaming about golden eyes?! I really need to get out more!! The warmth from within the soft blankets and sheets paralysed me. Maybe I could ask Kate to bring me breakfast? I'm starving! Wait don't be stupid she's here to help not be you maid. Get up lazy arse! Groaning I slung my legs over the side of the bed. My muscles moaned painfully. With my stomach growling to be fed I stretched before pulling on a pair of black leggings and a huge grey hoodie. I dress for comfort! Not caring about what I look like, I walk quietly down the hallway to see Kate's door open. She must be awake! half way down the stairs the beautiful smell of coffee and something else that smelled amazing wafted towards me. I'm going to die right here if I don't eat something. Striding into the kitchen my eyes nearly bulge out of their sockets. The butchers block was covered in plates full of delicious food.
"Good morning Isabelle! Sleep well?" Kate chirped happily as she filled yet another plate.
"U-uh good morning and Yeh I had a strange dream though, does pregnancy do that too you?" I questioned as I sat down at a bar stool. Kate laughed loudly before concealing herself.
"Sorry dare it's just that you brought back memories of my pregnancy. Oh what fun times! Trust me it's normal." She giggled before placing a steaming cup of coffee in front of me and sat down beside me. We talked for hours about anything and everything. The McMillians were like my new family already. After breakfast we moved to the lounge situating ourselves down on the couch, the fire was aflame heating the room perfectly. Soft snow flurries fell to the medium sized garden outside. I could still hardly believe this was happening to me. Kate sat beside me, a notepad on her lap and pen secured within her fingers. Her readying glasses propped on her nose as she wrote a list of things that I need to do. Doctor's appointments, finding a job, legal documents. We already had an appointment booked for tomorrow with a government company to help set things up for me.

Kate had gone up to her room to grab her laptop, I sat staring out the huge windows into the lightly snow covered lawn. The trees cast a shadow over the house darkening the cream walls. I wanted to explore every crackand crevice of this house and outside. Standing up I walk down the hallway into the kitchen. Grabbing a cookie out of a jar and nibbling it's sides. I jumped as a loud knock sounded on the door. Fear pricked me, I was frozen. It couldn't be him! Kate came down the stairs into the kitchen where she placed her laptop. She noticed my paralysed state. Giving me a reassuring squeeze on my shoulder she went back and opened the door. My breath caught, closing my eyes I waited for the voice.
"Nathan! What a surprise, please come in." Now I was frozen for a completely different reason. My eyes flung wide, a deep blush heated over my cheeks as last nights dream flooded my memory. Is this the Nathan? How is he here? How does he know Kate? I became aware of how i was dressed, i probably still have smudged mascara on my face. Oh god! Kate and the nysterious Nathan walked into the kitchen. Those haunting golden eyes seemed to swallow me. All I could hear was the loud thud of my heart. Shit what if they could here it. Kate seemed non the wiser by the sudden air change. Nathan looked as shocked as I felt, he held a plate covered tinfoil in his hands. Snow flakes had settled in his hair.
"Isabelle Crane?" He questioned looking directly into my soul. I chocked a little on the half swallowed cookie before speaking.
"Uh yeah, we met on the plane!" I offered him my hand to shake. His grin widened by the memory before his hand met mine. The feeling of his skin sent shivers over my skin.
"Are you the new resident? My mother insisted I bring around a house warming gift!" He handed the plate to Kate.
"You met on the plane? Such a coincidence and yes Isabelle is going to be living here, John helped her move over, she's an old friend of the family!" Kate had a small cheeky smile she glanced at me. My cheeks heated up as I silently thanked her.
"Thank you, for the gift it's really nice!" I said softly not trusting my voice. Nathan seemed pleaded with himself.
"Well it's always a pleasure seeing you Aunt Kate, and Isabelle I hope we see each other again, I live just across town. Here I'll give you my number just in case you need anything." He pulled an old receipt out of his pocket and a pen before writing his number on it.
Aunt Kate? Oh god don't tell me his mum's the sister of John, his family owns this house. That's how he knew someone moved in. Just my luck! I took the receipt. His smile bringing my own on to my face.
"Would you like a coffee?" Kate offered Nathan. I could feel his eyes linger on me as I slowly ate the rest of the cookie not daring to meet his stare.
"That would be lovely, thanks!" Nathan removed his jacket slipping it on to the back of one of the dinning room chairs before sitting down on a bar stole. I leaned against the counter watching him silently. He raked his hands through his hair his golden eyes flickering up to mine. I was scared if I'm honest. Everything seems to be so overwhelming, first I moved to Scotland second and pregnant and third I'm looking into the these golden eyes and find myself wanting gaze into them forever.
"So Isabelle, what brings you to Scotland?" Nathan spoke, his voice as it was directed to me sent shivers down my spine. Kate busied her self with the coffee machine as I cleared my throat.
"Well, I was in a relationship which ended badly. I got pregnant and decided that I had, had enough so I left. I dont have any fanily so i needed to get away and Scotland was the next best place!" Leaving out the harsh details I studied Nathan's face for signs of pity but I was surprised to only find anger and sadness. Kate caressed my shoulder motherly before placing the coffee down in front of Nathan.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Well if you need me for anything I will always be willing to help especially once the baby is born!" He smiled kindly. It's funny how the words of strangers could mean so much to me!
