Knocks on the door snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Hayley please let me in." Jai said through the other side.
"Leave me alone." I said through my cries.
He turned the knob a couple of times.
"Please let me explain." He said but I just brought my knees to my chest.
It was silent as he stopped knocking and trying to get through the door.
There was noise coming from the balcony as the balcony door opened and Jai came in.
How could I forget to close it?
I stood up as we were facing each other.
"Jai please leave me alone." I begged.
He looked upset himself.
"Hayley you have to listen to me."
"What Beau said was true, they told me to try making you fall in love with me. But once I started to get to know you, you are the most beautiful and amazing girl I know."
"How can I believe you Jai? How do I know what happened under the cliff meant anything to you as it meant so much to me."
"It meant so much to me too Hayley! You have to trust me."
"Didn't you hear what Beau said how you were the one that was supposed to fall in love with me but it went the other way around. Well it's true, I love you so much Hayley." Jai said taking a step closer to me.
"You don't love me!" I shouted.
"How do you know how I feel about you?!" Jai shouted back.
"I know because if you actually love me you wouldn't have hid all this stuff from me!"
"God damit! We did all this to protect you!" He said.
"From what?!"
"The pack they are coming for you, not Cora or us but you Hayley." He calmed down.
I stopped and looked at him.
"Why?"
"They want your necklace, and they are going to do anything to get it."
I looked down at my necklace and back at Jai.
"Why do they want it so badly?"
"Because it has a cure in it. If you drink it you become human again." Jai told me.
I looked at him staring deeply at him and then back at my necklace.
"I'm not just here because you wanted to protect me..." I said.
"What are you talking about?" He spoke.
"You guys want this necklace as well." I said.
"No we don't."
"You're lying." I spoke.
He paused and looked down.
"I knew it..." I whispered shaking my head.
"So you lied to me and used me." I said hurt.
"Hayley I'm not going to let the guys or the other pack take the necklace from you." He tried to convince me.
"You knew how much this necklace meant to me Jai!"
"I know that's why I didn't take it nor did the rest or the pact. I won't let the pack take your necklace. I'll protect you Hayley, like always."
"Shut up!" I said putting my hands in my hair annoyed.
"Stop saying that! You have been hurting me more than you have been protecting me!" I said tears beginning to appear again.
"Hayley..."
"Here you want the necklace..." I said putting my hands around the back of my neck.
"Take the stupid necklace." I said tossing it towards him.
Tears streamed down my face as I turned around.
I felt a hand on my wrist pulled me back as he wrapped his arms around me.
Something hit me so hard in the chest that I cried and cried against his chest as he held me.
"I don't know what to believe." I mumbled in his chest.
"Believe me beautiful." He said holding me.
