Chapter 14

(Music in external link!)

Alex takes us to pick up Eva and insists on taking me to work after I put my uniform on. I take him inside with Eva trailing behind and see the girl already behind the till start packing up but she stops when she sees Alex and licks her lips. Very seductively if I might add.

I can tell she wants Alex which forms an orb of sickness to form in my stomach. I see red for a moment wanting to punch her for thinking like that but hold back, because well I can't just very well punch her without a proper reason to.

"Well, are you going to introduce me to your friend Luz?" She says without looking away from Alex, the only time she moves when she says that is to stick her large chest towards him.

It really annoys me this but I ignore it and decide to introduce them. "Alex this is... Tracy, Tracy this is Alex, he's new in town." I say this reluctantly because the odd times I have ever spoken to Tracy she's told me she only goes for newbies and Alex just so happens to be one.

"Nice to meet you" Alex goes to shake her hand but she drags him into a hug that lasts longer than necessary (not that the hug was necessary anyway). Alex gives me a shocked and slightly scared look while he's still in her embrace.

Even though I'm surging with jealously as I've now realised the sickness I felt was, I still manage to chuckle at how uncomfortable he is. He glares at me and starts to try and wiggle out of her embrace which makes her giggle and apologise for being so rude not that we believed her apology.

Eventually we push her out the door after she chatted consistently about her current status of being single for the last twenty minutes. I smile politely at her as she walks out "Bye Alex, remember to call me, and did I mention I was single?"

I shut the door behind her and lean against it in case she tries to barge back in and remind Alex she's single again. I lift my head up and smirk at Alex "and did I mention I was single" I say mimicking her voice.

He rolls his eyes as if to say whatever "She's so annoying, how do you work in the same place without smacking her?" He asks genuinely confused.

"Well I never really needed to because we have different shifts, I hardly ever talk to her and I've never brought a boy here so she's never had a chance to annoy me much." I say not really having to think about it.

He looks at me curiously "What does me being a boy have to do with her being annoying?" He asks generally confused.

I look at him like he's crazy at first wondering how he doesn't recognise her flirting with him. "Well since she is a hormonal teenage girl she is going to be nagging someone as hot as you for your phone number!" I say as matter of fact. Wait! Did I just say that out loud? I did didn't I? Oops!

He stares at me surprised that I said that "What?" he chokes "did you just say that I was hot?"

I decide to cover up my embarrassment by just admitting that he's hot and pretending like it's not a big deal to me "Yeah, I did. Why, can't I think you're hot and be your friend?" I act like that it's totally normal to think your friend is hot.

"Yeah, sure you can! I was just surprised that's all!" He looks everywhere but at me and twists the bottom of his T-shirt around his finger as if to distract himself.

After a awkward moment of silence I say "Well are you going to stay or go home?"

"Are you trying to get rid of me or something?" Alex jokes but I find my self blushing with both the embarrassment from now and before.

"No I meant are you going to stay because I just wanted to see whether I should do all the work now or spread it out?" I stumble embarrassed.

He smirks at me and shakes his head "I was joking L, I know what you meant!" He laughs.
