Liyaan held me tight to her and I drank from my blood flask. "So he's rejected me?"

She stroked my hair "No. He's forming your destiny"

"What the fuck does that mean?" I spat.

She smiled "My destiny was to be left behind and be forgotten, all because of a bite, but yours will be different"

"yeah" I choked "To be killed by some nerd"

I felt her eyes pierce into me "You like him don't you?"

I sat up and glared at her "No. If I should like anyone it would be Tristan but mortals are so boring."

She didn't laugh. She got up and snarled at me, her fangs glinting "My biggest wish is that I could be mortal. I don't want to be this beast."

"Well" I said laughing "I think being beast is pretty hot"

She laughed a little "It's a big improvement from my mortal self but I miss being pathetic. I miss being me"

I stood up and grabbed her shoulders "This is you! You're a sexy blood drinking bitch, deal with it"

We laughed and tripped down the street.

"Maybe I could get Kiana to let me bite Tris…" I thought out loud.

I felt Liyaan unwrap her arm from my shoulder "Chris!"

"What?" I said pulling out my lipstick from my bag.

"Tristan is fine the way he is. He's happy, don't even think about something like that" She said, her voice shaking.

I rubbed my lips together after applying the dark red paste "Someone developing a crush?"

She scoffed "No, Chris he's going into Harvard. He's worked hard for it don't go biting the happy."

"You don't even know him, Lee! Plus, I already bit a happy person" I growled at her.

"And what'd that get you?" She said softly.

I sighed "Okay. I won't bite until told to. Happy?"

Liyaan flashed a sharp toothed grin and wrapped her arm around my waist "You're the closest thing I've had to a sister"

I smiled slightly and patted her dark haired head "We're not like sisters, Lee. Everyone thinks that sisters get along but they're actually like two crazy dogs fighting each other for survival"

"Chris….don't you have a sister?" she said quietly.

"A foster one"

"Where is she?"

I didn't answer. I looked the other way and Liyaan withdrew from me again. I rolled my eyes. She was like a lost puppy sometimes.

"Chris…Where is she?"

I turned and smiled at her and her brown eyes widened "Chris, what'd you do?"

I shrugged "Told her to GTFO"

Liyaan gasped and backed away from me "Where is she?"

I shrugged "Lee, just drop it. It's fine. Want some?" I offered her my flask which she grabbed and drank heartily from it.

She licked her lips "I fucking hate myself."

"All of us hate. Thats what we do"

Connor POV:

I woke up fine. Those things called hangovers? Non-existent. At least for me. I got up from my bed and looked down at myself, noting that I was in the clothes I was wearing yesterday. I took off my shirt and stared at my abs. Well.

I bit my lip and kicked the pieces of paper on the floor.

School!

I had school! I clambered over my bed to look at my pile of clean clothes. I picked up the first thing I touched and put it on….Wait. Shower! I smelt like roadkill.

Roadkill.

Kill.

My hands made their way to my neck. Two punctures, but no blood. I shook my head as yesterdays happenings. Christina.

"Hi, Mister"

I turned around to see Mary smiling at me. My heart began to race in a strange pattern, not the usual way but in a strange inhuman way.

I shook my head "You've gotten taller"

"5'11, baby" She said smiling.

"Wow..how?" I said putting some books into my bag.

She rolled her eyes "Freaking growth spurts and hormones…shit like that"

My eyes lowered to her feet, I laughed and shut my locker.

"Yes…" She said calmly, leaning against the lockers "My pants are a little-okay, very short now. How the hell is it possible that my legs and everything else grown except my butt!?"

I howled with laughter.

"Growth spurts and hormones seemed to have got you too." Mary said pulling her Dalek Victory shirt down "Mister Muscle Man"

I licked my lips and shrugged "Fabulous"

"Oh yeah." she said rolling her shoulders touching her ears.

I reached out and hugged her.

"Okay then" I heard her muffled voice.

I smiled and kissed the top of her head "So about that Lord Of The Rings marathon?"

I noted that her head was now at my neck and not my chest. I chuckled slightly at my tall ginger friend.

I looked up and saw Christina walking up to me with her friend Liyaan and two other girls, all looking as if they'd escaped from a fashion magazine. My grip tightened around Mary.

"Oh, Connor!" Chris said cheerfully "Did I introduce you to my friends Leah and Meredith?"

Mary stepped away from me but kept her arm around me.

"Well" Christina said flashing me a sharp smile "This is Leah."

A pretty red headed girl stepped forward and gave a fake smile.

"And this is Meredith"

the other girl,Meredith, laced her arm through Leah's.

"Nice to meet you!" She said extending her hand, not smiling.

Instead of taking it, I smiled politely and said "Ditto. See you guys around!"

I turned the opposite direction heading for my Science class, dragging Mary with me.

"Weird" She said.

I heard a tint of her scottish accent in the way she said it, so I decided to bring it up "Your scottish roots are detectable."

She laughed but her eyes drifted from mine to my neck "Con?" She said slowly

"Yeah?"

"Whats this?" I felt her finger lightly touch the two punctures from the bite.

A shiver ran down my spine and I removed my glasses that I was only wearing so that no questions would be asked.

"Con?"

"They're nothing, Maz"

"What do you mean they're nothing? Maz?"

I kissed her forehead and turned her around "Go to German class"

"I'm not done with my interrogation" She said playfully, walking away.

I smiled and began to walk into my Science class, strangely calm.

"Oh" I heard Mary's voice. I poked my head out of the door to see her bright smile "Don't call me Maz, Connor"
