Dallon threw his bag on the floor by the door and collapsed on to the couch. It had been a long day, all he had done was given three people speeding tickets. He had done a lot but it still felt like it wasn't enough. Dallon became a cop to stop crime and rescue people, not bring a lost kid in the park back to his mother.
There was one thing that made the day a bit different than all the others was the boy he had saw after informing a biker to stay in the bike lane. The boy was quite something to look at, he had a mop of brunette hair and big puppy dog brown eyes. He was quite skinny and when he opened the window he was surprised by the air, as if he had never felt wind before.
The whole scene had intrigued the cop and he wondered why he had never seen anyone in the house until today. The windows were always shut and the only time he saw a car there was when he made his early morning patrols. The entire situation was rather interesting, Dallon made a mental note to stick around that area for a while to see if he could get a glance of the mysterious boy again.
Suddenly, the apartment door opened and in walked Dallon's room mate, Ryan. Ryan was another cop, one of Dallon's coworkers, he was slightly younger than Dallon, but had all the wisdom needed to be good at his job.
"Hey Dal, what are we doing for dinner?" Ryan asked, throwing his keys on the kitchen table and going to the refrigerator.
"Um... ramen noodles" Dallon joked, the two had been on a tight budget for a while and often lived off of ramen noodles and frozen meals.
"Aw, come on let's go get pizza or something." Ryan whined grabbing two beers and throwing one to Dallon who still laid on the couch. "Dallon it's a friday night and we haven't done anything fun in forever. Don't you wanna go meet a pretty girl... or guy?"
Dallon casted a glance at Ryan, the younger man knew Dallon's sexuality and of his social anxiety, but still every Friday night it was the same speech.
"Ryan why don't we just order pizza, you can invite over that new girly friend of yours and I'll hide in my room and pretend I don't exist." Dallon laughed.
"Come on Dalpal, let's go get you a nice boy tonight. Doesn't that sound like fun." Ryan walked over and sat down in the armchair opposite the couch, like a therapist.
"Ryan you can go if you want, I'm just not up to it." Dallon got up off the couch and went to his room, making sure to lock the door behind him.
It's not that Dallon didn't like people, in fact he had lots of friends, just most hadn't talked to him in a while. It was just hard keeping up with friendships and romances when he was constantly scared of being clingy or everyone hating him.
Ryan sighs, and sits next to Dallon, laying his head on the older's shoulder. "You are unbelievable, we haven't gone out in weeks, and haven't eaten anything else besides ramen and hot pockets, and you're fine with it?" He asks, Dallon nods and takes a sip of the cold beer. "Unbelievable." Ryan says again, with a sigh. The older chuckles and checks his phone, which has a new text, from Duckie, a detective in the precinct where Dallon and Ryan worked at. It was just the man greeting the two, which he sighs at,because he would rather work on a case than do something that involves talking to unknown people and with going outdoors. The outdoors didn't like Dallon, and he didn't like the outdoors, the feeling was mutual.
Dallon grabbed the remote off the coffee table and flipped through the random channels on the television. The two didn't get very many channels so there wasn't much on, just some boring talk shows and a kid channel.
"See even the tv shows agree that we should go out and do something." Ryan whined, pouting like a child.
"I don't know about you but I am very interested to see if the pig can get out of the hole." Dallon joked, pretending to become very interested in the children's show.
