The Halloween Mystery

Chapter Two-The Mystery Begins

                     Caylee got out of the car. She was with Analese, and the twins at their kickball game!

                    "Good luck kids!"

             "Thanks mom!" Gabriella and Gabe said at the exact same time! The kids ran to their positions in the outfield as their coach called their names. Caylee ran to first base,, Annalese ran to third, Gabe is far outfield, and Gabriella is Team Captain, which is pitcher.

               On the last hand, the scoring was tied. Caylee was up. If she could kick far enough for a home run, they would win the game. She stepped up to the base as the ball flew toward her. she was too concentrated on the the ball, she forgot to kick and missed it. She tried and kicked, but missed that too. She had one more chance to kick the ball and less than a minute left on the clock.

                 The pitcher rolled the ball, and Caylee concentrated very hard. It was a fast ball, but Caylee finally managed to hit it. She ran faster than she ever had in kickball. The sharks got the ball to the infield just as Caylee zoomed past third base. They threw the ball at her, and she ducked and rolled just in time! She flew past home plate and took a breathe!! Her whole team ran towards her and lifted her up!

                  "Caylee! Caylee! Caylee!" they cheered.

                   When the cheering finally stopped, and everyone else went home, a gust of wind caught Caylee and made her fly off the ground for a second.

                 "Ahhhh!!!" she screamed. All of a sudden, dark clouds grew just above the kickball field and they saw lightning in the distance.  By then they were screaming as they heard the voice of a scary man came on.

                "I am the scariest man you could ever imagine!! So you will listen to me and do as i say. I am someone you know with brown hair and green eyes. If you don't do as i say, my minions will follow you around every night until Halloween. Then on Halloween night you will all disappear forever!!!!!!! First, give up your houses for David Edwards. Good luck!"

                Suddenly all the clouds cleared up and the voice disappeared. By that time, Caylee and Gabby were shivering and hanging on to each other for dear life.

               "That was scary." Gabby whispered.

              "I wasn't scared." Gabe said.

              "Oh please, you were hugging Analese and screaming like a little girl!" exclaimed Caylee. 

             "So are we going to do what he said?" asked Analese.

         "Hand over our houses? Definitely not!! Besides, if we don't what's the worst that could happen?" Caylee replied. Even though Caylee was confident on the outside, she was terrified on the inside. She had no clue what they were in for.
