Brooklyn's POV

I had cut a hole into my tent ceiling. The stars were shining proudly while the moon shown over every dark spot and created a lovely glow on the ground. Night time was by far my favorite, even if the day brought color and life, there was just something about the night that fascinated me.

I could hear Jackson and Martin whispering, quiet shushes I couldn't quite understand, but I was too captivated by the sky to care about what they were gossiping about. However, soon enough the whispering stopped and I assume that they went to sleep.

Yesterday afternoon, we had packed up and walked quite a far distance, but eventually I had gotten tired and Jackson was grumpy, so we decided to set up camp in a little clearing in all these tress; speaking of trees, it amazing I can even see the sky.

The smell of pine mixed with the fresh dew filled the air, giving off a comforting aroma and my eyes drooped. This was the most freedom I've ever had and all I felt was ambition, the thoughts of what's out there and the stories Jackson told me so excitedly about, the Grand Canyon, and the Mississippi River, all these things I've heard about just overwhelmed me with a feeling I could only describe as adventure.

I inhaled the heavenly scent of the forest as I closed my eyes, this feeling of joy stuck in my mind as I thought of everything that's happened

I inhaled the heavenly scent of the forest as I closed my eyes, this feeling of joy stuck in my mind as I thought of everything that's happened. The house was an amazing gift even if I didn't quite know what to do with it.

Suddenly, I began to cry, but I wasn't sad. My cheek was wet but my eyes were not. I looked up into the hole in my tent, to see angry clouds. They were gray and fluffy, but aggressive as something flashed in between them.

That was amazing.

I couldn't move, as my 'tears' fell down unto my face, I stared up in awe. The clouds were moving fast, the wind shook my tent.

Everything was alright until the sky roared and more tears poured.

The mighty sound split between the forest ground(I like to rhythm) and rumbled from far away. The awe I once felt was now replaced with fear and anxiety. The magnificent flashed showed itself again as another clap sounded. So the terrifying sound comes after the clouds flash?

I jumped out of my tent, the tears coming down more forcefully now, and my clothes began to stick to my body as I was soaking wet. My mind could not find the words to express how terrified I am.

I ripped open Martin and jackson's tent as I shook Martin awake. He began to stir until finally he was looking up at me with annoyance. I crawled into the corner of their tent, drawing my legs back so they were against my chest.

"What is that?"

He was confused, looking outside, realization showed on his face as he looked back at me. "You know what a thunder storm is, right?"

"A tunder what?" I shakily asked.

He chuckled lightly. "A thunder storm is, well, a storm with thunder. Rain falls from the sky as lightning flashes, and sometimes afterwards, thunder happens. Are you afraid?" He sounded concerned.

"Well I don't know what the buggers are so I guess..."

He laughed quietly, trying not to wake Jackson up. "Buggers?"

"Shut up I'm scared..." I covered my ears.

"Ah, well, it's fine, you can go back to your tent, I'm sure nothing will happen." he smiled lightly, unlike the sarcastic smirks or grins of amusement, this was a genuine and comforting smile.

Eventually I tugged back to my tent and fell asleep, the dream that had played in my mind forgotten as I got up in the morning the next day.

-----

"Are we there yet?"

"I don't think so."

"Where are we?"

"I'm not sure."

"What are-"

"Would you both please shut up!" Martin yelled, turning back to look at Jackson and I as we talked mindlessly for however long.

Jackson kept asking questions, and for me I was not used to getting a lot of attention, so I was happy to answer the questions as best as I could. Except it had annoyed Martin to no end as he tried to navigate where we were.

"All I can see is sky and trees Martin, are you sure we haven't gone in a circle?" I asked, looking around the beautiful forest I could never get enough of.

"Honestly, I don't even think he knows where we are."

"I do! We just haven't gotten to the right place yet.."

The right place? I looked around, seeing the trees and leaves and ground and I closed my eyes for a moment. This place I didn't even know the name of and yet I felt at home. Anywhere but the Lab was home. This right place Martin was talking about felt almost promising and I trust in him to guide me where he thinks is right, for I don't know how to survive by myself. Martin and Jackson's arrival at my house the few days I had been there was a God send.

I looked over, near the little creek we were following, to see the fuzziest, most adorable thing I was every laid eyes on. I gasped, catching the attention of the two brothers as I ran towards it, biggest smile on my face.

"No! Come back little one!" I giggled, running after said little one, watching as it ran away from me. I didn't hear Martin or Jackson as I continued to run after it.

I don't know how long I chased it, but when I looked back, I couldn't see Martin or Jackson. I looked around, looking for the little creature but it wasn't here either. Panic fled me as I began to breath heavily and look around frantically. I placed my hand on my chest and eventually got myself to calm down.

Even though I'm lost.

I'm lost.

Holy crap I'm lost.

"No! No, no no no!" I cried, looking around my surroundings as I began to think of a possible way of getting back to Martin and Jackson, but everything seemed hopeless, as I was unfortunately lost.

Getting lost is a whole new adventure, and I'm not sure if I like it.
