Chapter 15

Steven:

My god my love is in labor is all that's rushing through my head as I'm on my way to the airport.

I get there and they have the plane waiting as I jump out the car with my bag and run across the runway to the plane.

The pilot follows and is getting everything set up and sits and locks the for before taking his seat and gets ready to take off.

I'm squirming around in my seat nervous I'm not going to make it in time to be there for Angel and to see the birth of the baby.

We make it in the air and the pilot announces we will be there in several hours to get comfortable he will go as fast as he can to get me back safe and hopefully in time for the birth.

I thank him and pull out my laptop to check emails to try and keep my mind off everything.

~~~~several hours later~~~~

The plane just landed and I'm up and out of my seat and racing to the car that's waiting for me.

I jump in throwing my bag in the back seat and speed off.

I floor the gas and hear the cars engine revving up a it gets faster and faster.

I hit a button on the steering wheel and say call Benjamin and I hear the ring.

Several rings later a scratchy hello is heard.

"Benjamin I'm on my way now how is she doing hopefully I haven't missed the birth. Tell her I will be there shortly don't do anything without me." I slam on brakes as a car pulls out in front of me.

I scream a curse and hit the gas again and honk the horn several times.

I hear muffled screaming in the background and then the sound of Angel cursing my name.

I laugh and hit the gas to make the car go faster passing several people as if they are sitting still.

"Your good Steven the dr says she is only about 6cm she is progressing slowly. As for the screaming be careful is all I can say she sounds to me like she is wanting you dead buddy." Benjamin laughs before we both say bye and hang up.

I turn a curve and see the hospital in the distance.

I pull into a parking spot and take off running into the hospital.

I make it to the reception desk and ask a nurse what room Angel is in and she tells me.

I thank her and take off running down the hall.

I get close and hear screaming from down the hall and see Benjamin and several of Angels family standing outside a hospital door.

I make it down there as another round of screams start.

I make it through the door to see Angel covered in sweat her hair all over the place in pain laying in bed looking quit like her name suggests an angel.
