I woke up from my peaceful sleep upon hearing my favorite song being played on the radio next to my bed. Wait a second, my radio shouldn't be playing, I never turned it on. "Josh?" I only said that hoping that it was him but it was probably just Will being annoying, as usual. "Yes love?" I heard his husky reply with a hint of concern in his voice, why was he concerned and why was he even here?? "What are you doing here? How long have you been here?" I opened my eyes and saw Josh sitting on the edge of my bed, his hand moved up to my cheek and he looked into my eyes as if I were crying. "I came here to see you and I figured I'd get here before you woke up so that I could talk to your brother or mom, but when I came up here I heard you crying. I found out that you were asleep so I just sat down next to you and held you until the tears stopped." he still looked concerned, creasing his forehead and looking into my eyes, searching for something. I hadn't realized that I was crying in my sleep, obviously, just in my dream because of the nightmare that had invaded my sleep and turned my night into a restless horror. "Oh, I didn't realize that I was actually crying, I'm sorry for scaring you, if I did." "I wasn't scared just a little worried. Why were you crying?" he kept his hand on my cheek as I began to cry silently while looking into his eyes. I didn't say a word or even mumble, all I could do was look at Josh and remember the horrific dream. He immediately moved closer to me and opened his arms, "Come here baby." he softly cooed as I leaned up and settled into his arms.
I cried into his chest and explained my dream as it truly was. I had dreamt of my family and going on vacation on a cruise ship; we had almost arrived at a small island when suddenly there was a huge storm that took over our boat, killing everyone but me. I had escaped and swam to the island but on my way I saw Josh in the water, struggling to breathe. And then my nightmare went on and of course contained much more detail and much more horror. Josh kept his hand on my back the whole time, tracing patterns and circles that made tingles shoot up my spine with every touch. He murmured small comforting words into my ear when I couldn't speak from the tears and after I finished telling my dream he pushed me back just enough so that he could kiss me; pulling away too soon and wiping away tears from my cheeks.
“It’s ok baby. It was just a nightmare, it’s all over now.” he looked at me and waited for my response. I stopped crying and somehow managed to smile, just enough so that he smiled back and sighed realizing that everything was ok. Josh had let his arms fall to his sides upon realizing that I was ok and had already gotten up from my bed to walk over to the door. “I’ll let you get ready. Don’t be too long Claire.” he flashed his adorable dimple smile at me before walking out and quietly closing the door. I made my way over to the large mirror and examined my hair and face making sure I didn’t look too bad. I had taken off my makeup the night before so I didn’t have to worry about that and my hair stayed straight overnight somehow. Thank goodness, Josh didn’t have to see me in my normal crazy morning state with my insane hair and creepy leftover makeup!
I applied new mascara, eye shadow and foundation and then changed my clothes into a new outfit that Josh had pointed out to me when we went to the mall together; he wanted to see me in it so I bought it when he wasn’t looking just to surprise him and of course he still doesn’t know I bought it. The top was a white tank top with golden beads across the front on different layers with dark skinny jeans and light sandals with a bow and rhinestones on the top. I liked the outfit a lot myself so I’m sure he would. After finishing up I walked downstairs and spotted Josh on the couch next to my brother, I think they were playing the silent game or they were just really bored. “What are you guys doing?” I asked after taking a seat on the chair beside the couch. Neither one had even looked up at me as I came down the stairs or even as I sat down, which is a little unusual. Josh seemed excited to hear my voice as he jumped up and turned in my direction but my brother just looked at me and smiled.
“Claire…. Whoa you look amazing…” Josh stood there smiling his cute dimpled smile while looking into my eyes and blushing just slightly. “Thank you,” I got up walking over to Josh and grabbing both his hands in mine, “I knew you’d like it.” he pulled my arms around him embracing me in a hug while leaning down to whisper in my ear. “You look soo cute in white, maybe you should wear it more often.” I blushed at him when he brought his head back up grinning from ear to ear and then I brought his face down to mine. We had kissed for less than a second (or so I thought) when I heard someone clearing there throat a little too loud. Josh laughed into the kiss and I pulled away to see what it was, oh no I had forgotten that Will was still here. My bad…. “You can leave Will, just saying.” I looked at him and he smirked not wanting to leave. “I’m older than you so I make the rules around here. No more kissing in public!” “This isn’t public Will.” “Well I meant in front of other people, Claire.” My goodness this child is annoying, I can’t kiss my “boyfriend” in my own home because apparently it’s public. “Hey I wanted to ask you about something, in private because this is way too public.” I said looking back to Josh who couldn’t stop laughing at our little argument.
