"Who was she...?" I asked, surprisingly not tripping over my words in front of Josh. He hesitated for a moment before shaking his head and changing expressions to a look of anger or irritation. "No one, she was no one Claire and they turned it into a big scene! I was only introduced to her and then management forced me to take her to lunch. All I could think about was you and how much I wanted to be with you and that's when the stupid paparazzi showed up! They made it seem like we were on some date an..."

"Josh." I couldn't listen to this anymore, I just needed to be close to Josh and get out all of these built up feelings. He looked up at me immediately concerned and afraid when I asked if he would please just set me down. I reached up to hold his hands in mine while looking at his handsome face through the tears. "Honestly, I don't even know what to say anymore. I love you Josh and I want to be with you for as long as I live, it might sound crazy but I'm being serious. That girl, whoever she is, doesn't and shouldn't matter anymore. I trust you and I just want to forget about her for now and focus on us."

We stood there in the peaceful silence that seemed to be just the opposite of awkward in it's comforting quiet. Moments passed by and the rain started again but we didn't mind, simply stepping closer to one another under the small portico that was keeping us dry. But the perfect moment couldn't last forever; I gently let go of one of Josh's hands leading by the other into my house and over to the couch where he pulled me down to sit on his lap while running his fingers through my hair and pulling me close to his chest. "I love you Claire Salvatore." He whispered in my ear before kissing my forehead, followed by my whole face. I scrunched up my nose and giggled while gently shoving him back playfully and looking up at him to see that breathtaking grin of his that I missed light up his face. "I love you, Josh Hutcherson, and that stupid gorgeous grin of yours." Our laughter filled the room and continued only until we could no longer breathe and were clutching our stomachs in pain. It might not have been that funny but we both needed that break from the stressful drama of the real world.
