Mia opened her eyes to the thin ray of light coming in the window. It was early morning and she ached all over. She slowly stretched like a cat, wincing as her muscles twinged.

Sam had been an animal last night. He couldn't get enough of her. Mia was pretty sure they could illustrate their own sex book with the positions they had done last night. Not that she was complaining one bit. She fought back a giggle just thinking about last night.

"What's so funny?" Sam asked. Mia looked up and caught him peering at her.

"Oh, I was just thinking about the monster that attacked me last night." She said amid more giggles. Sam rolled her over so he was laying on top of her, kissing her chin.

"A monster huh?" Mia could feel Sam's monster below pressing into her and despite her soreness realized she wanted him just as bad. Sam had taken her 3 times last night and it seemed she was as hungry for him as he was for her.

"Yeah, my monster." She leaned up to capture his mouth and round 4 was officially started....

{Sams POV}

Sam was in the cab of his tractor, music blaring. They were making the second cut of the season for the hay they put up for their cattles winter rations.

His thoughts were on Mia. He wasn't sure what had come over him last night but it was like he had to brand her someway. Make her his and he couldn't seem to get enough of her. He had loved Liz but this was different. Almost desperate, like he couldn't breath correctly without her. Last night at the party he had caught men of all ages checking her out and he couldn't help the amount of jealousy he had experienced when he saw this. Mia and Carson were his. So what did that mean? He wasn't sure but he knew that it was too early to really have that chat.

This morning in the shower he had caught himself thinking that soon he would have to start looking into new house plans and then his mind had automatically thought about how it should be laid out with Carsons nursery/room and maybe a spare room for Mia if she wanted one for crafts or an office or something. He had to mentally shake himself. She would freak if he said something about that this early! All he really knew was that when he thought about himself 5 or 10 years down the road, he pictured himself with her and Carson. He briefly remembered the doctor saying to him that his vastecomy was reversable and the doctor giving him some statistics on probability etc. Not that he had really paid too much attention at the time. So he and Mia could have more children in the future. She knew that right? So currently Sams plan was to keep his mouth shut so he didn't over run her with his attentions and make her fall as in love with him as he was with her.

Easy Right?

A few days later

"Mia there you are. We are calling parents to come pick up their children a little early if they can since the weatherman is calling for some more severe weather. We have about 3 hours but I wanted to let you know." Carla, one of the other daycare workers informed her. Mia had settled into her new job fairly easy. Even little Carson seemed to like being around the other babies and was attempting to babble at them.

Mia couldn't help but feel nervous. Within an hour all the children were sent off with their parents and Mia was heading home with Carson. She stopped by Sams place and went searching for him. She found him and some other hands in one of his fields. They had just baled a bunch of hay and they were scurrying around trying to get the hay in the barns before the weather hit.

It was still sunny outside and if she hadn't had seen the forecast herself, she would have never known that a monster storm was heading their way later that afternoon. Sam had told her that at certain parts of the season, they could have two storms a week that produced tornadoes or even high damaging winds. He acted like it was normal but Mia felt anything but normal about it.

Mia heard her phone chime and looked down at it.

"Hey babe. I can't stop right this moment. Go ahead and head to your house and I'll be there in a bit. Don't stress too much. Go ahead and get the stuff we talked about ready in case we have to go to the cellar." Sam's text read.

She looked back up and saw him wave at her from his huge green tractor. She waved back and drove to her house.

She laid Carson down on his playmat so he could swipe at the toys hanging over him. She turned on the local new channel so she could hear the latest while she got candles, flashlights and some other things together. Apparently this storm had already produced a twister just over the state line to the west of them so they were discussing predictions and timeframs. She wanted to yell at the TV when she saw how excited some of the meteorologists got with this weather.

Gavin had sent most of the workers home that had storm shelters at home so they were safe and their families didnt worry. About half of the men actually lived at the ranch and Mia did feel safer with them there with her. Every few minutes one of them would come by and check on her. She just wished Sam would hurry up and get there.

When they announced that the storm was about 20 minutes out, Gavin knocked and poked his head in the back door.

"Hey Mia, they guys and I are going down to the ranchhand storm shelter. They are gonna start a poker game. Wanna join?" He asked, his eyes went from her to Carson but didn't seem nervous.

"Oh, well...umm..I wanted to wait for Sam. Do we need to get in the shelter?" She asked, feeling her pulse speed up.

"No, no. Not at all. We just figured we would go on down there and keep ourselves occupied until is all cleared."

"Ok phew! You scared me for a moment there!" She left out a shakey breath. "Go on, Im giong to wait a few more minutes and then we will get it the shelter. Thanks Gavin."

"OK, try to get in before the hail and wind gets too bad though OK? I'll text you in a bit." Gavin gave her one last look and headed back out.

Mia had exactly 6 minutes before the power went out and she tried not to freak out. Now she had no way of watching the weather but then she remembered the battery operated radio in the shelter. She was disappointed that Sam wasnt there yet but decided to get going. So she packed up Carson, his diaper bag and the bag with the other supplies and got in the cellar.

She lit the propane lantern and before she could settle in one of the foldable chairs, Sam was scrambling in with a hand on his hat. Once inside he latched the door and said,

"Hey babe. Sorry, it took longer than we planned. You alright?" He sat down next to her and took Carson into his lap.

"I am now." She said and when he leaned in, she eagerly kissed him back. "Thank you for coming over to be with me. I realize you could have gotten into your cellar closer to your place."

"Like I'd be anywhere else. Nope, Im just where I want to be." He said looking down at Carson who was busy waving his arms in front of Sam.

"Awe thanks Sam."

"Yeah no problem. You know I miss being with Carson..." That earn him an elbow to the ribs. " and his mama..." He grinned over at her. "No but really. It looks like all of this is gonna go jus to the north of us."

Mia seemed to relax a little. Carson had already fallen asleep against his chest. Sam reached out with his free arm and pulled her into him. She burrowed her face into his chest and sighed, wrapping her arms around him.

"Sam..." She said muffled against his shirt.

"Yeah babe?"

"Sam, I- I think I might love you."

"That's great Mia. Now we are on the same page." He heard a muffled giggle in his shirt. He used his free hand to lift her face to kiss for the most tender of kisses.
