Mia woke up in Sam's arms and she smiled, stretched against his warm muscular body and then went ridged when the prior day's events came back to her memory. It wasn't even dusk yet but getting close.
She couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He had done this procedure as a noble act, yes it was misguided but still, to prevent one woman from getting pregnant and here he was about to be a father possibly two-fold. This honest, caring, sweet man, who only had good intentions had so much on his shoulders right now.
Mia decided she would be as supportive as possible. Gone were the days where you marry a woman because you got her pregnant.
She ran her hand up the length of his body. This was her man and she wouldn't give him up without one hell of a fight.
His breathing had changed and that told her he was awake and waiting to see what she was up to. She moved so she was straddling him and leaned down to kiss his lips. His eyes never opened but he grinned against her mouth. She could tell he hadn't recalled yesterday because he was still happy. Very happy, she decided when she felt him rock hard under her. This is how it should be and she wasn't going to remind him and ruin it.
"You're getting old Sam." She said playfully.
"Oh?" He said, popping one eye at her to see what she was about.
"Yeah. Must be, because you only made love to me once last night. Either that or maybe I'm getting fat and you aren't attracted to me any longer..." She led off, totally kidding.
"I'll show you that this old man can hang with you any day babe. You're in for the ride of your life". he growled and lifted her up so he was poised at the entrance of her body.
"Hang on Cowboy..." she promised and succeeded in distracting him for another couple hours.

"You go get the baby and I'll shower and then when I'm done we can swap places." Sam suggested as he swatted her butt and urged her out of bed. She giggled and did what he said.
She found Carson cooing sweetly to himself in his crib, and once again had his fist in his mouth, chewing away. He gave her a precious smile when she picked him up and it melted her heart. And to think she was going to have two babies under 2....very soon.
When she turned around, she just about jumped out of her skin when she saw Sam standing there. He had a towel wrapped around his waist but he wasn't wet. He did, however, have a familiar white stick in his hands as he leaned against the door jam.
SHIT! With everything going on she completely forgot about the tests she had just left out on the counter.
Her eyes darted from his hand to his eyes and back. She couldn't read anything in his eyes though.
"Mia?" Just one word.
"Uh...surprise?" She let out on a laugh. A laugh that ended up in a sob. Tears started trickling down her face as she waited for his reaction. Her hand over her mouth, she looked up at him through her tears.
He had the saddest smile on his face. He walked over to her and pulled her and Carson into his embrace.
"I don't know exactly what to say except I can't help but be excited. Wow. What a crazy couple of days!" He breathed out, chin on top of her head. Carson had a fistful of his hair but Sam didn't mind in the least.
"Your happy about it?" She dared to asked, still silently crying.
"Absolutely." He didn't hesitate to say.
