I woke up and stretched. I shivered. So cold. I crawled out of the hollowed rock, noticing that it was night. A warm night. A gentle blue light filled the air, pulsing. I went up on top of the rock, spreading out my ribs so I could reach the warmth. I closed my eyes, then heard a shuffling sound. I turned towards the source and looked at the human. It was wrapped up in a covering that was like the body-covers that they wore, except this was over some kind of soft-looking rock. The human's eyes were closed, and some of it's hair was in it's mouth, tangled from sleeping. I breathed a sigh of relief, and continued to soak up the warmth. I heard the other dragon moving, scales scraping against rock. The chubby lizard had turned so that the eye that was caved in was turned towards me. Weird, I had never noticed that before. "Sparky!" I called out to the older lizard. She turned her good eye towards me. "What, little one?" she asked. "What happened to you're eye?" She looked at me, studying my red and orange scales. "Older sibling was challenging me on a branch too high up. Fell, crushing the bone above my eye." I looked at the older lizard. "How old are you, Sparky?" She looked up, thinking. "Uhm, about three or four years old. Why is that, little Red?" I looked at the human, thinking about why. "Because, I want to get to know you. You may be the only dragon around. And I'm used to talking to other reptiles." She nodded her head. I heard a dog barking, a sound I was so used to. It was complaining about having to use the bathroom. A mealworm crawled into sight. I stalked towards it, then snatched it up, chomping. I went back up on the rock to do what I now refer to as "moonbathing". After a long while, a ray of sunlight pierced through what Sparky calls a "window", alerting me that morning was here. I watched the human, looking for any signs of movement. None, it was still asleep. I stayed there, felling warm and happy, making my small purring noises, until around noon, the human stirred, muttering something while stretching. I panicked, running back into the hollow rock. The human got up, put a few vegetables in my food rock, and went out of the room. I snuggled into the rock, trying to keep warm. Tired now, food and warmth making me drowsy, I slept.
