The chapter title is from Sing Sing, I thought it would be fitting for the chapter. You'll see why, don't even ask why the lyrics are not from Sing Sing, not everything has to be all matchy matchy ok? And I love Simple Plan

"To be hurt

To feel lost

To be left out in the dark

To be kicked when you're down

To feel like you've been pushed around

To be on the edge of breaking down

And no one's there to save you

No, you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life"

-Welcome To My Life, Simple Plan

I drive along the soft dirt road following closely behind the car that contains Jacelynne. I wish I knew more about why she was so rude to the cashier though.

Maybe they went to school together.

I crank the radio up as it starts blaring some random pop song, I decide against the radio and pop in a Nirvana tape. I love tapes, they're so much better sounding. Although I'll find myself with CD's eventually. Tapes are getting hard to find even at old record stores, and when I find them they're more expensive. I drive down the road for another 5 minutes, just enough to hear "Heart Shaped Box" We pull into the driveway of a huge house. It's paneled with white wood and the roof has black shingles. There's shutters that have been painted black to match the driveway and roof. There's a gate I assume lines the property but the driveway is long, as you drive you see a tire swing and on the other side a small pond and a pool farther up.

I pull up beside Jacelynne's care I assume Taylin is either out or they share the car. I grab my bags from the back of the truck and sling them over my shoulder. Jacelynne leads me into the house. To the left of the door is the coat room, I hang up my jacket on a hook now declared as mine. She then takes me past several closets and into the large living room painted red. She tells me the kitchen is off through the hall to the right, on the last door I assumed was also a closet turned out to be the door to the kitchen and dining room. Jacelynne leads me upstairs, she gestures to the red door.

"That's Taylin's room." She knocks on the door, "I'M HOME"

"KAY!"

"This is my room" She says pointing to a purple door. "And this is yours" The door is black, she pushes it open.

"Wow..." I gasp. The room is huge, it's painted red with one black wall at the headboard of the bed. Posters of all different bands and movies are hung up around. There's a corner with a few acoustic guitars and a small keyboard. A cherrywood desk sits on the far wall with sticky notes and notebooks scattered around. A matching dresser stands beside the bed that acts as a table. There's a closet and a large wardrobe that stands at 7 feet. A table with a glass top in the far corner and a small stool.

"Is it not enough?" Jacelynne asks

"It's more than enough, thank you"

"Your bathroom is through that door. Dinner is in an hour, it should give you a chance to unpack a bit and get cleaned up. The notebooks are unused if you want to write or draw in them, song ideas whatever. The guitars and the piano are at your disposal."

I thank her again and nod, she closes the door behind her. I unpack my clothes and store them in the dresser. Hanging up my blazers and jackets in the wardrobe. I also place my shoes nicely in the bottom drawer. I take my stuff into the bathroom. It's red as well.
