James's P.O.V

I wrap my arm around the small, sobbing girl's shoulders beside me. Alice was taking her best friends' deaths really hard and it pained me to see her like this. My left hand was tucked in my pocket, fiddling with the small leather box. The funeral had been brutal and now only Alice and I stand in the small graveyard, surrounded by tombstones and trees. We had placed blue roses beside Alice's grave and white ones beside Cullen's. The freshly turned dirt filled he air with a thick aroma that only served to remind us of our lost friends.
"I miss them." Alice buried her face into my chest as the sobs seized her breath again. It had been a week since they passed and the pain hadn't faded. Alice turned around and began to walk toward the camaro, parked beside a tree leading out of the cemetery. I couldn't give up the camaro. Mel and I had so many memories in it and I felt like I would be giving her up if I sold her precious baby. I grabbed Alice's arm quickly and she looked at me with surprise. Her soulful brown eyes made my heart skip a beat and I faltered for a second. Licking my lips I looked at the tombstones beside us and smiled.
"Alice?, " I cleared my throat and let my heart open to her, "we haven't known each other that long but I know that I can't live without you." Her eyes began to water as I pulled out he black box and got down on one knee, tight in front of Mel and Cullen's tombstones. She began nodding but I needed to finish what I had to say. The words had been bubbling up inside of me and I needed her to truely know how much she means to me.
"I know we aren't perfect. I know we will have problems and I know our life will be hell... but I also know that you mean the world to me and I would fight my way through hell for you. I guess what I am really trying to say is that I can't picture my world without you in it and I don't want to. So I ask you, Alice Carly Amerson, " I took a deep breath and asked the question that had been rolling around my head since I first kissed her, " will you marry me?"
