Liam's P.O.V

I watched the man as he looked at my files resting in his large hands. Mr. Mars, he said his name was, stood tall at 6'7". He towered over the secretary as he looked down to talk to her. He glanced at me with a huge grin and walked the seven steps to speak with me. He was only a few inches taller than my 6'2". Mr. Mars clapped his hand on my shoulder and squeezed, not once did his grin falter.
"Well Liam," He pulled a name tag out of the file and passed it to me, "Welcome to the team." I smiled up at him as I took the tag and clipped it to my shirt. He handed me a notebook and explained that I would be taking notes on each animal and their feeding, sleeping, playing, and pooping habits. I laughed when he said "pooping habits". He had to be joking. But when he didn't laugh or so much as crack a smile, I knew he wasn't. Great... I get to watch random animals shit and then write down what I observed... it's elementary all over again. He led me out into a long corridor leading to halls full of cages and "exhibits".
"This is the animal resident halls. Each section houses a different kind of animal." I was amazed as we passed section after section. Each had a plaque that said the section and animal type. Section 1, desert birds, Section 2, water birds, Section 3, land birds, Section 4, fish, Section 5, dangerous fish. Section 6-9 were empty and I glanced at Mr. Mars in confusion.
"They were monkeys, gorillas, etc. but a rainstorm leaked in and now they are under construction for now. When fixed, they will be up and running." I nodded and kept reading the signs. Section 10, elephants, Section 11, Wolves and Coyotes. Mr. Mars stopped outside Section 11's door and gestured for me to go in. I pulled the handle and walked into the long hall full of cages. Mr. Mars walked confidently to the end as I saw a girl walk into the cage. I followed, passing wolf after wolf on the left and Coyote after Coyote on the right. We stopped outside the door to the cage and saw the girl on the ground. There was a black wolf playfully licking her face. I couldn't help but smile as I heard her laughter. Her dark brown hair was long and fell to the middle of her back. It was shiny and swayed side to side as she tried to keep the wolf from licking her face. She quickly threw a piece of meat across the cage as Mr. Mars chuckled. He turned to me and shook his head, his grin large and proud.
"That is our animal rescuer, caretaker, and healer, "He looked back at the girl as she jerked around to look at us, "Corin Davis." She looked at Mr. Mars with a smile before her eyes met mine. Her eyes were a beautiful caramel brown and her dark hair fell slightly in her face. She blew a strand out of her eye and watched me with a shocked expression. I chuckled at how cute she was and she blushed before throwing another piece of meat to the black wolf. Cute? Did you just call her cute? You never use the word cute. A paw rubbed against my knee and I looked down at the little wolf. I bent down and pet behind her ear as her tail wagged behind her. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as she whined her approval.
"Corin!" Mr. Mars called to the girl walking toward Section 12. After sending me with Corin, Mr. Mars left back through the hall door and toward the office. I went to lock the cage with the wolf in it but she barked her disapproval. Corin told me to let her out and the wolf galloped aftet Corin's retreating form. I turned to follow Corin as she led me into Section 12, Cats. Domestic cats. We rounded the corner and it was nothing like I thought it was. There were Lions, Tigers, and Panthers galore. Corin popped open the door to a lioness cage and waltzed right in. I stood outside, confused and scared. The lioness prowled toward Corin and I felt my muscles tense. Instead of attacking Corin, the lioness purred and let Corin kiss her on the head. She fed the lioness and stepped out of the cage before locking it back up. I stared at her in shock and she blushed before walking across the hall. "What?"
"Did you just kiss a lioness?" I was in complete shock and amazement. This gorgeous girl kissed a lioness! She was brave, beautiful, smart, caring, she was perfect. She shrugged and unlatched the cage.
"She loves cuddles and kisses." She stepped to the side as my eyes collided with those of a black cheetah.
