Before he could think, he put his hand over it and pushed it into the mans head, then kicking him to force him to the ground and then one more time to save some time. He ran into the room. Maya was against the wall, the left side of her face bruised and battered as well as all of her exposed skin, peaking out from her tattered clothes. He ran to the man standing over her and knocked him over, landing on top of him and hitting him. The man forced him off and went after him but Lucas moved in time, kicking his head hard this time and knocking him out. He ran and picked up the crying girl in a cradle, running out of the room. Two kids, slightly younger then them stood in the hallway. Maya was not the only one there. The man he had fought had a gun at there heads.
"Give her back or I shoot."
"Lucas, let me stay." She said, weakly. He placed her down gently against the wall. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me yet." There was no way he was going to leave her. The man put his gun in his pocket. As soon as his hand left the gun, Lucas knocked him in the side of the head with his fist. He heard sirens.
"Down the hallway!" !" He yelled to the kids as he kneed the man where the sun didn't shine. He fell to the ground. Then he reached for Lucas's shins, pulling his feet out and forcing him to fall, punching him in the face. His vision became blurry as he felt a sharp pain to his nose. He hit back but got the mans shoulder. He didn't feel anything as his vision began to focus again. There was Maya, sitting on the floor with the mans gun pointed at the man.
"Don't move." She said, her voice shaking. Officers ran into the hallway. Maya put the gun down on the other side of her, putting her hands up. So did the man and Lucas. Then Cory appeared behind the officers, Riley running in behind him. The officers ran over and picked up all three because they didn't know who was innocent and Maya had been holding the gun.
The officer picking up Maya set her back down because she was too hurt.
"Sir, do you know them?" Asked an officer, turning to Cory.
"Maya or Sophia and Lucas. The ones on the sides. They're victims."
"Maya or Sophia?" Cory looked at Maya. Maya nodded.
"Maya Hart. She made a fake identity as Sophia Reed to avoid this. She's not dead." They lifted up the man in the middle, as well as the man that had been knocked out who was now awake and led them out. Maya leaned against the wall as Riley ran over to her, Cory following.
"Your nose." Said Maya, pointing to Lucas's bloody nose.
"Don't worry about it."
"Maya?" Asked Riley to the drifting Maya. Everything became blurry and Lucas caught her as her body weekend and fell to the ground.
