Really, Harry? He didn't even warn me and he obviously knew. He will be getting it later, I swear. I stared into his mesmerizing eyes, and he stared back stolidly, blank of all emotion. He just stared with hands gripped firmly behind his back.I was ripped from my loathing thoughts when a rumbling voice finally filled the silence that had fallen upon us.
"Hello again, Kylie." I looked away from Harry and met the intimidating blue eyes of James.
"Hi." I said curtly, thankful my voice didn't falter and I didn't stutter. No matter how much anxiety I have or how scared I am, I normally just don't stutter.
"So, what was it again you said you could do?" He said leaning forward onto his desk slightly, his eyes never leaving mine.
I stared at him, contemplating what I should say.
"I can fight and I can determine whether or not a drug is generic or not quickly."
He nodded and kept staring as if he expected more. What is his game plan? My eyes tore from his and I scanned the room, noting possible escape routes and hiding places.
I calculated everyone's stance, they covered every part of the room that I could possibly escape from, Zayn standing at the door we came in from.
I saw movement from the corner of my eye on my left and whipped my head towards it. I the doorknob turn and then someone walk in the door with a cart that held a wooden crate on top. I watched their movements carefully.
She had bleached hair with half of her head shaved. She wore black spandex everywhere, like a bodysuit. Her eyes were a deep chocolate and she was staring right at me with...amusement? What's funny?
I noticed the bulge in the side of her boot that would normally go unnoticed but I had a thing where I could pick out specific small things of a person or situation but often miss the big picture.
My eyes trained in on it before quickly flicking back to her face, not wanting her to know that I knew she had a gun. She had stopped in front of me and was standing on the side of the cart.
She stared at me with hate for a couple more seconds and I cocked my head to the side and smiled, making her eyes narrow at me. James cleared his throat and she finally moved to an unoccupied point of the room. I cursed under my breath, that was where I was going to run if shit went south.
"Kylie, this is a box full of different narcotics, real and fake. What I want you to do, is determine what it is and if it's real or not. Since you keep saying you're fast, I'll be timing you." James said fully leaned forward with a device clutched in his hands.
I gazed to the box and then back at him. I shrugged and started moving forward. The box didn't have a top and was full of little plastic baggies. There was powder along with pills.
I smiled, this would be easy.
"Go." I heard James say and I snatched a random bag and instantly knew.
"Shrooms.." I trailed off, holding them to the light to determine if they were real, and finished with a nod, "real," I said placing them beside the box.
"Cocaine.." I said after picking up a baggie with a white powder. I opened it and licked my pinky before reaching in the bag with it. I took it out and inspected the powder that had stuck to it. "Real." I said and then stuck my pinky in my mouth with a smirk.
The next bag had a pill in it. It was white and oval shaped with a line running down the middle. Instantly I knew this one, Zoe used to do them all the time, even I had once.
