🔽💭 Will Carter 💭🔽It was kind of the nurse to give him a lift back home, but at the end of the day Carter would still be home alone and weary of whether Lovell would return. His fellow Lance Corporal wouldn't have left him, would he? He had seen him at his worst now, lying passed out from alcohol and other substances.
"Do you have anyone to go home to?" The nurse smiled through the car mirror at him in the back seat of the car.
Snapping back into bleak concentration he replied,
"There is only one person I want to see standing at my door, and that is the person who loves me. But I'm not even sure if he does anymore. So, no, miss. I guess you could say that I have absolutely nothing to go back too.***
He thanked the nurse and stumbled out if the car. His leg had fell asleep along with his brain cells.
Carter threw open the house door to reveal Lovell desperately clutching Carter's hoodie in one hand, and trying to open a bottle in the other.
"Lovell no!" Carter grabbed the bottle out of his bleeding fists. Lovell looked up bleakly.
Carter stuttered a little.
"Stand up Lovell!"
Lovell moaned but heaved himself over to Carter. Carter took back his hoody and the bottle. He threw the bottle down and it smashed, spreading it's liquid around the floor. Carter wrapped the hoodie around Lovell's neck and held onto the sleeves.
"I love you Lovell."
"I love you too."
Carter smiled. Lovell bit his lip.
Carter kissed him; there was no place he'd rather be.
"But you're such a wanker sometimes you know that?" Lovell laughed.
Carter just kissed him again.
"And you're a bitch." He said- and took his hand in his.
