"Why don't you come with me for a little while Raelyn." Christian asked me squeezing my shoulder.

"I have no intention of being rude General, but perhaps I should retire for the night." I proposed.

"Nonsense, I have already spoke with John, he has given me permission to escort you." He replied dropping his hand down to mine and firmly taking it in his.

I jumped a little when he began to tug me down the hall and out the building.

"Do not fret Raelyn I shall not harm you." Christian said trying to reassure me.

I nodded my head in response and remained quiet. Christian and I rode in a black shining carriage to his home.

He took his hand and escorted me out the carriage.

"How do you care for my abode? Is it not spectacular, the men worked on this house for many years in order for it to be completed to my expectations." he boastfully said.

"It is quite nice." I replied with little enthusiasm.

I looked up at his home, it was rather large for one person; but I suppose the wealthy liked the feeling of loneliness.

"Why don't we take a step inside." He gestured towards the large mahogany door.

As soon as we stepped inside two guards met us at the door. They were huge men wearing peculiar uniforms; the uniforms looked oddly familiar to me.

"Welcome back General." The men saluted towards Christian.

"Relax, this is my guest Raelyn. She will be staying with me." Christian waved his hand dismissing the guards.

"Pardon?!" I exclaimed surprised at his bold remark.

"I shall be returning by the end of the night to my home." I snapped.

He let held his stomach end let out a laugh.

"Oh Raelyn, sweet sweet Raelyn. Oh how you make me laugh, don't get so flustered over something as silly as that. You know I would not commit foul play." Christian coaxed.

"You act as if something would have happened if you did commit foul play, you are simply a fool. I will be leaving, thank you for such a 'splendid' time." I snorted unattractively.

As I made my way towards the door a guard stood in front of me with an aggressive stance.

"Apologize to the General you wench don't think we will let just anybody talk to him that way." The bulk headed guard commanded.

"No no, it's quite fine let her go. I find this quite amusing, isn't she a little feisty thing." He jeered.

I glared at him and continued out the door slamming it behind me.

"How absolutely rude can someone be?!" I grumbled loudly.

I marched my way home in the dark of the night. Walking through the town at night was something that I rarely did, it was far too dangerous. And I wasn't about to go looking for trouble.

I let my mind wander down the roads of the town, thinking about the peculiar outfits the guards were wearing. Why had their outfits awakened this mysterious feeling inside of me when I saw it.

Although it was frustrating I couldn't let my mind wander too far, I had to pay attention to my surroundings in case of trouble.

Safely returning home I noticed the door was open.

"John, Kassiana!" I called.

"Yes dear were in the kitchen." I heard Kassiana call to me.

I let out a sigh of relief eager to see her warm and loving face. I entered the kitchen to see her leaned over the sink with John patting her on the back.
