"Mommy, mommy!" I shriek.
I sit up straight in bed, screaming. The blanket's woven around my finger. My mom is nowhere to be seen. I've been calling her for ages now, the tears running down my face never stopped. Everywhere I look is dark. Suddenly a light appears, in the shape of a rectangle. There's a silhouette of a women in the center of the light. She appears to be getting closer but she is still so far, too far.
"Mommy? Is that you, mommy?" I whimper.
"Yes, it's me, Clarissa it's me."
I ache to be closer to my mother but she has stopped coming nearer and is frozen in place. I still cannot see her face for the light behind her is too blinding. "Where are you mommy?"
"Wake up Clarissa, it's time. Wake up, you must wake up!" Slowly, my mother floats towards me over the blackness that covers the ground. She's getting closer now, I can almost see her face. And she's here. I scream.
"Mommy! What happened to you? Mommy!" I'm choking on my own tears now, my throat burns and my vision is blurred.
"You must wake up. To save me, you must wake up!"

"Mommy!" I sit up, panting. My hair is wet from sweat and sticking to my temples. I'm in a room. It's not my room, but my stuff is here.
"Hello?!" I yell out. "Is anybody here? Hello?"
"Hello." Where there was nothing before there is suddenly a man standing not too far away from where I sit.
"How did I get here?" I ask, my voice stumbling with the words.
"Interesting. Most people ask the "Who's" and the "What's", sometimes even the "Where's" first." The mans voice is oddly high pitched for his body. He's very tall, with lots of muscle and a hilariously large moustache. I think I'll call him Stachey.
"So you've taken others too then. Who? Do you have my mom?!" I raise my voice.
Stachey just laughs. "Yes we have others here too, but don't get confused. We didn't capture you, we saved you."
Now it's my turn to laugh. "You expect me to believe that?"
"Well you have no reason not to. We haven't done anything to harm you or make you feel imprisoned. There's a door to your left that's open and you can feel free to leave at any time. Although I suggest you don't because you're still sick and should probably rest and-" I'm already up.
I look at Stachey with an expression of defiance. "I need to find my mother."
"Last I checked you ran away from your mother."
I just stare at him for a moment, struck still with disbelief. "How do you know that?"
"I know much about you that you don't even know about yourself."
"That makes no sense. What's happening? Where am I?" Suddenly I feel very dizzy and much like I'm going to faint.
"You have to lie down Clarissa, you're still ill from your journey here."
"How did I get here?" I say as I hastily make my way back to the bed I was in.
"Through a dream."
