Chapter Five

I texted Preston to let him know Blake and I were on our way. He didn’t reply back but I wasn’t surprised, I doubt he could hear his phone over all the kids at the party. Now I just sat here in the passage seat next to this sex god.

I looked back at him, god he was gorgeous. He literally was sex on legs, big muscular arms that I would kill to be in, I hope he didn’t notice I was gawking at him. “So how long have you knew Robert and Preston?” I always heard about a guy named Blake that worked with Robert but Preston never told me much about him. I wonder if he was single or even if he was gay.

 “Almost ten years, I met Robert while we were going to law school together. Now we both run a law firm together and we are doing very well in our business.” I looked at him, he just seemed like he was older than Robert.

“How old are you, I’m not trying to be rude but you look older than Robert to meet him while you two went to law school.” He chuckled, god his chuckle was sexy just sending shivers down my spine.

“I’m only three years older than him I had put off going to law school because I had found out my girlfriend was pregnant.” My heart dropped when he said girlfriend, they was my sign that there was nothing between me and him.

“So you have a son, how old is he and what’s his name?” I was going to ask him about his girlfriend, but I didn’t want to know about her.

“Yes he just turned ten and his name is Benjamin. He is best friends with their oldest son Sebastian and they are inseparable, always together. Been like that since the first day they met. ”

                “So you and Robert became best friends then?” he nodded his head, “It didn’t bother you when you found he had a husband?”

                “No why should it, everyone has the right to love whoever they want. Besides I never seen a couple more in love then those two.”

                “That’s true, does Benjamin’s mom get along with them?” he smiled sadly, that could only mean that she didn’t like them and avoided being around them at any cost.

                “Naomi died during child birth, that was another reason I had put off law school, but if she was around she would have loved having them as friends.” It sadden me, I was here so quick to dislike her and only to find out she died. I felt like a bad person now.

                “How long were you two together before she passed?”

                “We were high school sweethearts, she was going to school to be a nurse. She just finished her schooling when she found out she was pregnant. We were both happy, since we had no other family, we were happy to start our own family, but god had other plans for us.”

                “Sorry to hear that, so it’s only been you and Benjamin since then?” I could only imagine how hard it was for him to be a single parent and then to grieve for the mother of his child.

                “Thanks and until a year ago, I finally started dating this woman named Erika.” I let out a small sigh, of course there was going to be someone else, the good ones were always taken. But who was I kidding, it’s not like I would ever had a chance with him.

                 “That’s nice, does she and Benjamin get along?”

                “Not as well as I would like, but then again Benjamin doesn’t get close to many people. Robert , Preston, Ramona and their kids are the only ones he is really close too. They are the family we never really had and we are lucky to have them.”
