Chapter Twenty-Six

We walked inside the furniture store, we wanted to get Benjamin’s bunk beds and the baby’s crib before going shopping for the baby stuff. “Dads, dads I like this bunk bed!” Benjamin said excitedly as he pointed to one of the displays. He ran over to it and climbed to the top. “Oh it’s so high and so cool up here! No wonder Bash always says he likes being on top!” We chuckled as Benjamin moved around excitedly on the top bunk.

“Benji, get down from there before you fall off.” Blake said as we got closer. It was your typical wooden twin/full size bunk beds, with the ladder on the side.

“Aw come on dad, how are you going to let me get a bunk bed and then don’t let me try it out. I have to know if it’s going to be a good bed.”

“Well is it going to be a good bed?” he laid down on the bed, he turned on his left side and then to his right side.

“Yes this bed will be great.”

“What you’re not going to try out the bottom bunk?” I asked.

“Oh yes I forgot about that!” he got up and climbed back down. He did the same thing on the bottom bunk. “Yes bottom bunk is good and it’s bigger too so both Bash and me can sleep on it. Then we can stay in the fort all night!” I smiled at how excited he was, I had a feeling we were going to have Sebastian over a lot.

“So are you sure this is the one you want?” he nodded his head, “So you don’t want to try out another one to be sure?”

“Nope, I like this one dad.”

“Why not that one?” Blake asked as he pointed to a dark cherry loft bunk beds. “Look it has a chest and drawers on the side, steps that double as more drawers. It also has a desk.’ Benjamin walked up the steps to the top bunk, he laid down. “How does it feel?”

“I don’t like it, it’s not as soft as the other one. Then it has no ladder and without the ladder it doesn’t feel like a real bunk bed.” Benjamin pouted as he sat up, I looked at the other display and saw one both of the might like.

“Hey what about that one,” I pointed to an oak twin/full size bunk beds, it is L-shaped and it also had the desk with shelves and the ladder. “It has a little bit of the two you two like, why don’t you try it out Benjamin.”

He walked down the steps and went to the other bunk bed. He climbed the ladder and laid down on the top bunk. “I love it dad and yes it will still work for building forts!”

“Are you sure because once we buy it, that’s it you’re stuck with this bed until you out grow it?” Benjamin looked around at the other displays.

“Yes I want this, it’s perfect!”

“Okay that bunk bed it is,” Blake went off to find one of the sales people.

“Dad lets go look at the baby furniture, we need to pick out a crib for the baby.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the baby crib display. “We should get this one dad.” He pointed to a chocolate finish crib that had a changing table as well.

“You like that one huh?” he nodded his head. “Well it does come with a changing table, one less piece of furniture we will need to get. I wonder if they have a dresser that will match it.”

“They don’t have one the same color,” Benjamin said sadly.

“Let me ask they could have one in the back or we can order it.” He reached for my hand and we went looking for someone to help us. “So what do you think we should decorate the baby’s room with?”
