I thought I was going to have a hard time adjusting to my new life in New York, but it wasn’t. I had Blake and Benjamin there with me, then soon we were going to have a baby. I still couldn’t believe that we were going to have a baby in our life.
It wasn’t something a new couple should have but we were going to have one. I had thought that Erika was going to make things unbearable for us, but she hadn’t. I guess she was scared if she did anything that would hurt the baby, Blake would do whatever he can to bring her down.
Which I was grateful, not something I wanted to deal with right now. All I wanted to do was just spend time with my new family and get ready for our daughter. Benjamin had to be the one most excited about it, he was always asking when his baby sister was going to be here. He couldn’t wait to be a big brother.
“Dad how much longer until my baby sister is born?” Benjamin asked me as we made dinner.
“We still have about two more months she is born.” He pouted, “Aw don’t worry the time will go by fast and it will be here before you know it.” He smiled.
“Dad can I invite Bash over for dinner and can he sleepover?” he asked as I finished the stuffed pork chops and put them in the oven.
“I don’t know it’s a school night.”
“But dad it’s Thursday and everyone knows you don’t do much work on Friday.”
“Did you finish your homework?”
“Yes I did, please dad can Bash come over and stay the night?” I chuckled as he gave his sad puppy dog eyes.
“Okay fine, let me call Bash’s dad to see if he can even come over.” He ran to get the phone and handed it to me. I dialed Preston’s number and waited for him to answer.
“Please tell me your calling to take one of my kids?” Preston said, I could hear kids laughing and screaming in the background.
“I’m going to take a guess that Bash has been asking if he can come over.”
“Oh god yes, they spend all day together at school, but of course that isn’t enough for them.”
“No kidding, wait until they start dating and then we will see how much time they make to hang out together.”
“Yes, but if it is okay Bash wants to go over and stay the night. Feel free to say no to him sleeping over, it is a school night after all.”
“No it’s fine he can stay the night, you know we don’t mind him at all.”
“Okay, well we will be there in twenty minutes. I would normally send him alone but I need a little break from the kids. Word of advice, stop after three and don’t let him sweet talk you into having more than that.” I chuckled as he got mad at one the kids.
“Oh but it sounds like you’re having so much fun!” I chuckled again.
“I will give you some of them if you want, but I’m telling you now, you can’t return them. All sales are final and they are your problem.”
“Aw I don’t think they will want to leave you two, especially Robert since he gives them whatever they want.”
“No kidding, well I’ll let you go and I’ll see you in a few.”
“Okay we will be waiting,” I hung up the phone and looked at Benjamin. “Well Bash will be here later, so let’s go get the living room ready for the sleepover.”
“Yay!” Benjamin ran upstairs and I followed him. We came back down with all the blankets and pillows it took to make their fort. “Dad I think it’s time we get me a new bed.”
