Emma woke up the next morning alone. She put on a loose dress and slippers and made her way down the the Great Hall. She saw Killian's butler James and went up to him. "James, have you seen Killian?" She asked, flipping her hair over her shoulders.

He swallowed nervously, "he's in his den, your majesty."

She nodded and went in the direction of his den. She stopped in front of the door when she heard a female voice. She pressed her ear up against it and heard the voice belong to Milah. She grabbed the doorknob and opened the door. Killian was laying on the chaise with her on top of him. They both looked up. He had a terrified look on his face but she had a satisfied smirk. He stood up and threw Milah off of his lap in the process.

"Swan, it's not what it looks like," he said in a panic.

"No, it's exactly what it looks like. I kissed him and he kissed me back," Milah said, wrapping her arms around him.

He grabbed her wrists and took them off his body. He went over to Emma and held his hand out for her. "It wasn't like that."

"You kissed her! Was what you said to me true? Or was that just what you knew I wanted to hear so you would have me?" Emma asked. Tears streaming down her cheeks. "I knew what you said wasn't real."

"It was! She came onto me! You have to believe me, please. I do love you. You have no idea how crazy I was before you came into my life."

"I guess he got tired of you. You'll have to surrender your little life here that you made with him because as you can see, he wants me," Milah said, taunting her.

"Swan, I swear. It was a mistake and it didn't matter. What matters is you," he said moving closer to her. He grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes, "you have to believe me."

She yanked her hands back and ran out of the castle. Tears ran down her cheeks as she ran farther away. She felt herself start to slow down, but she kept pushing until she felt herself become trapped. She was halted and stuck to the ground where she stood. A dark mist around her feet. The exact one that held her down when she was kidnapped in the first place.

Emma heard pounding footsteps coming up behind her. She looked in front of her as Killian came into her view. "What the hell is this?" She asked, pointing to her feet.

"You forget, darling, that I am the King of the Underworld and ruler of the darkness and the dead. I can manipulate it in anyway I choose. It's holding you down so I can talk to you," he explained with a straight face.

"I don't want to listen. You trapped me!"

"Milah came onto me. I was getting something made for you and putting the final touches to it when she came over to me. She kissed me and pulled back onto the chaise so it would look like I was the one kissing her when you came in. I don't feel anything for her! I don't love her." He sank to his knees. "I love you." Tears were welling in his eyes as he begged her to believe him. She turned her head away from him. "Use your superpower, Emma."

Her gut was telling her that what he was saying was the truth, but her head was telling her otherwise. She tried to pry her feet off the ground, but it was no use. They wouldn't budge. "This isn't working," she whispered.

"What isn't working?"

"Us. It's not working. There is too many flaws Killian! You can't have me!"

"Why not?" He asked, standing up. Anger starting to take ahold of every emotion that he had.

"We're different. We don't belong together! Fate is trying to tell us that."

"Screw fate! It doesn't decide what or who I want. It doesn't control what I do!"
