David walked into the living room where Mary Margaret was pacing impatiently. He shut the doors and she turned around at the sound, "what happened?" She asked. Worry was evident in her eyes.

"I didn't sense his magic. I only sensed Emma's, but she was with him, so of course her magic is going to rub off on him. But I know that one thing is clear. He isn't getting anywhere near her."

"Finally we are on the same page! I agree."

"They don't remember each other. I guess we could get Emma a suitor. She's going to have to marry."

"No. I didn't have a suitor and neither shall she. If she doesn't want to marry she doesn't have to."

David sighed, "alright."

-----

Killian went back to the Underworld and immediately had his tailors start working on a new suit for Emma's ball. He rushed around to get ready even though he had a few hours to go. One of the butlers walked into his room with the new suit in his arms. "Sir, why are you rushing so much for this ball? It's just for David's daughter and her return," Smee said.

Killian turned to him, "my reasons are my own. Question them again at your peril."

Smee nodded and left the room. Killian grabbed the suit off the bed and carefully put it on so he wouldn't rip it. He went over to the mirror and looked at himself in the blue and black suit. A matching mask sat on the desk. He was determined to find out what was wrong with the princess. Why she had a problem with him and how he could fix it. Smee wanted to know why he was rushing around to look perfect for the ball, it was because it was her. The woman from his dreams. He was determined to wake her up, even though he had no idea what to wake her up from.

-----

Emma stood in front of the mirror in a dark purple dress. A matching sash around her waist. A purple glitter mask was tied around her eyes as she turned around to look at every angle of the dress. 'Stop stressing. You look fine' she kept telling herself, but the more she told herself that, the less she was believing it. She walked to her designated spot at the top of the staircase in the ballroom. She looked over the railing at all people. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest. She scanned the crowd of people but couldn't find the one guy she wanted to find. The man that she apparently had a past with. She was looking for Killian.

The trumpet blared and that was her cue. She watched everyone turn to the staircase as she began walking down the stairs. "Princess Emma!" The announcer yelled. The sound of hands clapping together was all she heard.

She walked up to her father and they started the music for the father daughter dance. "Do you think he's here?" Emma whispered. A fake smile on her face as she subtly looked around but couldn't tell who anyone was through the masks.

"I don't think so. He wouldn't cross me," David whispered back as he twirled her around.

"He's the King of the darkness, Dad. Of course he'd cross you. He manipulates and lies."

"Done your reading, have you?" He asked with a laugh.

"Yes, but that's not the point. Dad, I'm scared to death that he's going to attempt an abduction again."

"You've survived it once. If it does happen again, you'll survive it again. Who knows, maybe get those memories back as well."

Emma nodded as the music slowly died down. She curtsied and he bowed as they pulled away from each other. She went over to the food table and grabbed a strawberry. She raised it to her lips as there was a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to a man in a blue suit with a matching blue mask. She placed the piece of fruit down and grabbed his hand that was offered to her. They walked to the dance floor and he moved her in front of him and they started to dance.
