As he saw the carriage leave, he rubbed his eyes in disbelief. He started to ramble in his head, How did I let her do that! How did I let Zane do that! His mind frantically runs around. He can't think straight. He starts recalling everything that happened within those short minutes, or maybe even hours. It didn't matter, either way these events happened. So she proposed to marry Zane for peace. He starts pacing back and forth. He shutters at the thought of his one true love, Aphmau marrying his one true enemy, Zane. I tried to stop her, but then I-I failed her. He stops pacing and his bottom lip starts to quiver, just a little bit. His eyes water the slightest, even though he wanted to cry on the spot, but he had to stay strong. He snapped out of his sappy moment, and started pacing even faster then before. She told me to tell the village she was gone, to tell Levin and Malachi she was gone. Her words echoed in his head. Don't hide the truth from them. Let them know what she has done. He stops his footsteps on the spot, and lets out a dreary sigh. His face starts to turn to the side in confusion. He just realizes what she has said to him before she left. Wait-I'm gonna be a Lord! His mind starts to clutter with all of his thoughts, all of his excuses for not being able to be a lord. He puts his hands over his head. He can't handle all of this. He starts going inside the village gates. I can't be lord. I haven't been trained like Aphmau. I'm a guard, not a lord. I'm not suited to lead. I'm suited to protect the people who make a village better, but soon I have to be who makes the village better. This can't be.
"Laurance!" A voice called. Laurance turned his face towards the person making the noise. He didn't have to turn to far because the person was right in front of him. It had wavy blonde hair. His hair, wait no his face, no everything about him looked like those surfer dudes you see at the beach. The only thing missing was the waves, the board, and the gleaming sunset behind him. Laurance looked around his surroundings a little more. Wait no, there is the sunset. He recognized him anywhere. It was Garroth. First in command for Aphmau. Well, was.
"Yeah!" I said in a sudden panic. He still didn't fully process what was going on.
"What is going on! You have been pacing around talking to yourself for over five minutes now!" He didn't realize it was that long. He was to caught up in his thoughts, that he couldn't worry about time. He knows he has to get used to that. He was about to become lord where everything was about time. He took a deep breath and just said it. No excuses, just facts.
"I guess I'm a lord"
Everyone was in aw of that word. No one could believe Laurance just said that. Well, Laurance and Garroth couldn't believe he just said that. Laurance still didn't understand why she wanted him to be lord. Why not someone who has prior experience. Someone who is maybe supposed to be lord. Someone like Garroth.
"Garroth I-" Laurance's head started to pound. He started to have no control over his thoughts. He slid down the barrier between Phoenix Drop and the outside. He feels a pain he has never felt before. Even the pain he had to become a shadow knight. It wasn't even close to the pain he is feeling now. Not that it is more, but just that it's different. It was the kind of pain where you didn't know what was coming next, just in a more extreme way. His heart started to beat more rapidly. He felt like it was going to bounce right out of his chest. His ears felt clogged, almost like they were filled to the brim with water. He couldn't hear anything anyone was saying. He was sitting on the ground with his back against the cold, cobblestone wall. His knees were up straight, with his arms connected to the top. His hands were holding up his head, seeing that his head was too heavy to be held by his self. His face was blank, but his eyes were full of fear. He learned at his training to be a guard, that he shouldn't ever show your weaknesses, even in these situations, but he couldn't change his expression. He couldn't do anything. He saw Garroth call for help. His voice faint. Laurance didn't have the strength to try to hear what they were saying. He just blocked out everything being said, like a do not disturb sign was written across his face.
He saw two men come over. One with a blue set of armour on his body, ready to fight for the war that was not about to happen. The other was a blur, but he could still recognize that man anywhere. It was him. The one lurking in the shadows. The one who helped Laurance and Aphmau before the war, and now, when the war was supposed to be in battle. When there was supposed to be a sword in hand, but instead this was happening.
His vision started to go white. His hands were limp. He couldn't move, couldn't think. Except Laurance gained a little portion of his thoughts back. He couldn't let this one thing go unspoken before he left. Out of everything he could have thought. He could have maybe said something major. Life changing. Just important to the other men trying to save his life, but instead he said what was important to him. What he thought was life changing. He couldn't hold it in any longer. He tried with all of the power left within him before he left, but it only came out as a whisper. No one notice what he said. No one noticed how he whispered everything he wanted to say. Everything he could say. They couldn't recognize how he said everything he could, and it was all for her.
"You should've picked Garroth"
Authors Note-
Heyyyyyy. So you probably realize whats going on between them, but if not, you'll see in the next chapter. I am so sorry for not uploading this sooner, but I really have no excuse. Just like Laurance. Why can't you just be lord! You probably over worked yourself and now your in a comma, or concussion. I don't know, but the only reason why I didn't write this sooner was because I was busy reading other fan fictions, and seeing how I want this to play out. I didn't even get this idea until this morning. Or until dawn. Video game reference. Anyways, I've been reading mentallylove's fan fiction which are amazing let me tell you, and wanting to see more from KitKat_1421 about how Violet's parents are going to react when they see that she got into the competition. Sorry, but I really like the book. I know you are working on it, but I just had to add it. I know that most professional authors take years to finish a book, so I get it. I just really like it! Anyways, I don't know if I should also do the show tunning thing for this too or only my Minecraft Diaries Theory book, so I'm just going to do it now, and see if you like it. Btw, it was around 1000 words. With the Author's Note it's 1307 with the Author's Note.
Thank you so much for show tunning in and I hope you enjoyed
