Dick Grayson quickly ducked his head as he dropped a large glass bottle and darted for the exit. He had just stolen some snacks from a nearby convenient store, and him breaking the bottle was his idea of a distraction. Lucky for him, the owner turned his head at the noise of the glass shattering and Dick was able to easily sneak the food out of the store without being noticed.

He then took the food to the small room where he had been staying. He began by opening a small bag of potato chips and placing a chip in his mouth.  He then removed the black hoodie he was wearing, which he had previously stolen. He still hadn't worn the new costume he had made yet. It made Dick feel unsure and nostalgic.

Though tonight he told himself that he was going to go out wearing it. Perhaps he could get a bit more than snacks if he robbed a place in his suit. It would hide his identity a lot better than the hoodie he had been recently wearing.

And if he kept on wearing only the hoodie, and the Court was still after him, then he would surely get noticed. Though, fortunately, there was still no sign of the Court of Owls and Dick hoped that it would stay that way.

Dick let out a sigh as he stared at his new uniform. Once he put this on, he would no longer be Dick Grayson. Dick Grayson would be dead to him, but Robin would be born. So, Dick shakily put on the costume. It consisted of a black and white mask that he retrieved from his Talon uniform, an average sized cape that was black on the outside and yellow on the inside, a red vest with a yellow R embroidered within a small black circle, black legging, and black gloves and combat boots. There was also a wrist holo-computer that Dick found to be very handy. His uniform also consisted of a yellow until it's belt, which was filled with weapons he had stolen before leaving the Court.

He had gotten quite a bit of the material from his old uniform, but the rest he had been stolen from a fabric and clothing store.

Dick then changed into the new uniform. He had to admit that he felt weird in it. What would people say when they saw a thirteen year old boy running around in a cape and leggings (which he refused to call tights).

Ignoring how strange he felt, he then exited the apartments and made his way to the rooftop of the building. Once on the roof, he began jumping from rooftop to rooftop. He loved the feeling. He felt so free and as if he could do anything.

Then Dick heard a loud alarm go off and a long strange looking long vehicle passed by at a fast pace. He quickly followed the vehicle and the sound of the alarm.

When he reached his destination he saw the alarm was coming from a nearby bank. Then, he saw a man get out of the strange vehicle. He was tall, and dressed in all black with two ears pointed at the top, and a cape much longer than Dicks. Dick had to resist the urge to laugh if he didn't want to get caught.

Then, the man ran towards the bank, and attacked two men who were holding money bags and attempting to escape. The men looked terrified of the man in black, but Dick had no idea why. He didn't even look scary. And then, as if it were the easiest thing in the world, the man in all black knocked both of the criminals out and proceeded by walking of the the building.

Dick was amazed. This man went out dressing like a bat to help people. Dick could do that.... But he had already stolen. What good of a hero would that make him?

Dick then jumped to the nearest rooftop near the black long vehicle and watched as the man neared it. Who was this guy?

And when the man was close enough, Dick decided to speak.

"Here I thought I was the crazy one, but you're the grown man running around dressed as a bat." Dick smiled as he caught the mans attention.

The man sent him a glare when he spotted him," Who are you?"

"I mean, honestly. Is this some type of hobby, or just a weekend thing?"

Once again, the man asked," Who are you?"

"That's not important. The real question is who are you?" Dick asked trying to avoid the question. The man slightly looked confused as if he had asked a strange question.

"You're new to Gotham, aren't you?"

".... What makes you think that?"

"Nothing.... I'm Batman. Now, who are you?"

"Fine, if you must know, the name's Robin."

"Where are your parents, Robin." Robin flinched, but Batman didn't notice due to the darkness.

"Does is matter?"

"Yes, you are a kid running around in the middle of the night in Gotham. You are going to get yourself killed."

This time, Robin glared,"I can handle myself."

"Where do you live?"

Robin rolled his eyes,"Can you only speak in questions or something? I mean, I should start asking about you. Like, what's that weird car about because I doubt you can just go and buy one at a dealership. And, second of all, why a bat? That makes no sense. Bats aren't scary. They are small and wimpy."

Batman ignored his questions,"You should get home."

"Me? What about you?"

"I'm trained to fight. I can protect myself if needed."

Dick sighed. He wasn't sure if he wanted Batman to know about his skills yet, so he gave in," Okay, I'll go home, but we'll meet again. I can promise that."

Batman nodded and entered his car and drove away.

"Stupid Batman.... He's such a weirdo." Dick muttered to himself as he walked towards the apartment complex. Batman had completely treated Dick like a kid, and Dick hated that. He had been raised by the Court of Owls. They never treated him any different because of his age. Same training, same life, same punishments. Now he just needed to show Batman exactly how much of a kid he isn't.
