Dick Grayson was possibly the worst person in the world at obeying rules. If he was told he was not supposed to do something, he would probably do it anyways. If someone told him not to touch something or not to go somewhere, he only wanted to do it more. And that's exactly how he ended up following Batman to a strange alley way within Gotham.
The alley had didn't have much in it, but an old phone booth that didn't seem to have been used very often. So, Robin was surprised when Batman stepped within the booth. Did he have something hidden there that he needed? And then Robin was even more shocked when the booth began to glow a bright white color and then the color faded as soon as it had appeared. Robin quickly hopped down to examine the booth and ask Batman what that was, but Batman was gone. He had just disappeared somehow.
Then Robin got an idea. Would he be able to enter the booth and be transported? If might be dangerous and he might taken somewhere bad. So, he tried it. And... He failed.
"Unauthorized Personnel." A woman's voice spoke as Robin exited the booth.
"Unauthorized, huh?" Robin questioned as he pulled out his wrist computer and began to do what he did best: hack.
It didn't take him too long to get into what was called the "zeta tubes" database," Zeta Tube?" Robin raised an eyebrow. There were several locations listed on where he could be taken.
Gotham City, WatchTower, Mount Justice, Star City, Hall of Justice.....
The most recent time it had been used was right now by Batman and he had gone to a place called the Watchtower, whatever that was. Therefore, Robin knew he should probably not go to the Watchtower, so he decided on going to Mount Justice. He quickly hacked and labeled himself as a guest when he would enter. He smiled at his work and then stepped into the phone booth once more and his smile grew larger as the bright lights shined once again and transported him to Mount Justice.
"Recognized: Guest." The females voice said as he realized he was no longer in an alleyway, but within a large and open room. And then he saw them. Five teenagers all staring at him with weapons held out and ready to strike.
"Who are you?" One of them spoke. He had dark skin, blonde hair, and what appeared to be... Gills? Then there was a girl next to him who was-and no he was not making this up- GREEN. She was actually green! Then, there was another male next to her. He had black hair and wore a black shirt with a red "S" in the middle. There was also another female on the other side of the fish boy. She was wearing all green, had her blonde hair tied in a high ponytail, and she had an arrow aimed right at his head. Lastly, there was another boy and Robin almost laughed at his attire. He was wearing a full body yellow suit with a lightning bolt on his chest and he had bright red hair.
"Well.... Batman didn't tell you guys I was coming?" Robin smiled. He had had no idea that there were teenagers doing exactly what Batman did. How many more people were there dressing up and saving the lives of others? Could he become one of them?
"Batman did not notify us of anyone." The fish boy replied.
"That's so like him," Robin walked towards the team,"He isn't even here to introduce you to his new..... Sidekick?" He stuck out his hand as a kind gesture, but no one shook it.
"You're Batmans sidekick? Hah, sure, and I'm dating Wonder Woman." The boy in the yellow laughed causing Robin to raise an eyebrow which all the team members seemed to noticed. Wonder Woman? Who was that?
"I am. He wanted me to join your team." Robin smiled," But I get the feeling that I'm not wanted." Robin then pretended to get upset and he began to walk away," I'll just tell Batman that you guys don't want me to join...."
"Wait..." Said the girl who was green," Maybe you could stay and we could get this all cleared up."
"I'll contact Batman and ask him." The fish boy said. Robin then realized that he was in trouble. He could not contact Batman or Robin would be caught and.... that would be bad.
"Yeah.... Uh.... But he's busy. You know, being Batman and all." Honestly he had no idea what Batman even did in his spare time.
Did he have a life outside out Batman? If so, he was probably some weirdo with no friends and he lived home alone. Robin doubted many people wanted to live with a man who spent his free time running around the city dressed like a bat."I'm sure he will not mind too much." The older boy then began contacting Batman on his ear piece and from the distance Robin could not hear what he was saying, but he could figure it out when the boy sent a strange and shocked look to Robin. He had been caught.
"Well, that's my cue." Robin then dashed for the zeta tubes before the team could even comprehend what he had said.
