"Batsman is going to be so pissed when he finds out I snuck out." Dick muttered through his comm as he drove towards an old building on the edge of Gotham.
"You're going to face a group of assassins and that's your highest concern?" Wally questioned through the mic. Batman was already upset due to the fact that the two heroes had ditched their therapy session with BC.
"I need something to get my mind off of this all."
"It'll be fine, Dick. I've got your back." The speedster replied, Dick not even sure if Wally believed his own words.
"You sure you'll be there?"
The speedster had previously stated that it would be a better idea if Robin and him didn't travel to the area together.
Dick was starting to get worried and it was obvious.
"Of course, I'm practically right behind you."
Robin understood Kid Flashs precaution, it would be better for them to arrive at different times, especially if the Court was expecting Robin to bring someone along, but it made him feel so vulnerable, so alone.
"It'd be better to be radio silent too. I'm going to remove my comm before I get there, okay?"
"Got it."
Dick sighed as he speed up his motorcycle. Time to get this over with...
---
The old building might as well had a lathe neon sign on it that read,"Assassins Inside". The building was old, falling apart, and the light reflecting from the moon was Dicks only source of light.
Dick cautiously pushed the doors open and his eyes saw the back of a member of the Court. They were practically in full uniform, missing only the mask. The figure turned around, and as expected, it was his Uncle.
"Richard, you showed." His Uncle turned around, but made a face as he saw Dicks attire. Perhaps he shouldn't have worn his Robin uniform to this...
Dick could feel his legs trembling. This would determine the rest of his life.
"Y-Yes, I did. I just wanted to settle things." He mentally slapped himself for stuttering.
"So, you're admitting to your mistakes and suggesting you rejoin the Court?"
Robins eyes widened,"Uh, no- well-"
"I'm proud of you. You're looking past you're mistakes and choosing the better path,"His Uncle paused,"Honestly, the members of the Court of Owls had not believed that you would join. They called me foolish for trying and said my attempts to reach out to you could even be considered as treason."
"Treason? They would have killed you..." To the Court, Robin had committed an act of treason, which is exactly why Talons had been sent to kill him. They saw betrayal as one of the worst acts that one could ever commit.
"Yes, alas that is true, but after convincing them, we were able to make a deal. I bring you back to join to the Court and they spare me. They even decided that you're skill are not some they should lose, so you're life too shall be spared."
Robin wasn't sure whether he should be grateful or scared,"I'm not going back." He spoke quietly, barley audible, but his message was made across.
