*A/N* I know I said this story was on hold until my co-author comes back, but I decided to give y'all something since I feel bad. So this WILL be revised and much more will be added to it in hopefully the near future, however here is a chapter to tide you over for a bit. Let me know what you think.**
I follow North back down the stairs. This time I get a glimpse of the second floor on our way down. There are three doors on the left and three on the right of the large landing. On the wall in the center of the open landing is a floor to ceiling window with a beautiful view of the back yard. There is a set of two recliners and a matching couch facing outside, with an antique coffee table in front of them. It would be a beautiful place to sit and relax with the guys.
I assumed the 6 doors on this floor opened to some bedrooms. I didn't want to ask to see them though, just in case it turned out like the North situation. We continued to the bottom floor and North went out the front door. I noticed Gabriel and Luke had stopped following us, so it was just North and me going into the garage. He lead me across the paved driveway and through a small pathway that lead to the garage.
I took a quick look around the front yard as we walked and noticed it was very well taken care of. The grass looked freshly cut and very healthy. There were flowers lining the front porch and driveway, giving the area some color. I was so focused on looking around the yard, I didn't notice North had stopped to wait for me by the garage door.
"Sang Baby?" North's voice was amused. "You coming in or are you going to hang out here all night?"
"Oh, right! Sorry," I blush and walk quickly to catch up to him. "It's just so pretty out here! Do you guys have professional landscapers?"
"Actually there is a girl here at the Academy, who has her own little gardening business. We mow the lawn ourselves but she deals with all of the flowers and sh- uh.. stuff." North says, making his way through the garage door.
"She must be really popular here," I say, following him inside.
"Kayli's business is just now starting to take off actually. We were one of her first customers."
I nod absentmindedly, while taking in the huge garage. There are a total of nine cars and one motorcycle parked inside. They all look brand new and very expensive. North pushes a button, making the garage doors open up to the side of the garage I haven't seen from the outside. I notice nine more cars parked outside the garage in an attached carport. The nine outside are very plain compared to the flashy set inside. I wonder why that is, but it isn't my place to ask. I follow North around as he shows me his work space at the far end of the garage, which includes a few rolling tool boxes and some shelves and drawers. On top of one of the tool boxes is a grumpy cat bobble head and I have to cough to hide my laughter. I don't think I do it very well though, because he looks at what has caught my attention.
He grins and rolls his eyes. "Luke gave that to me. After I smacked him upside the head, I decided to keep it out here so he wouldn't complain about me hiding it in a drawer or something."
I smile up at him, knowing he kept it because it meant something to him.
He shows me all of the flashy cars and I forget the names as he tells me, but I know they are very expensive. Once he has shown me the inside, we head outside to the more simple cars.
One is an all black, slightly rusted pick up truck that North says is his. Another is a burnt orange SUV that he claims is Gabriel's "POS" whatever that means. The rest of them all seem to be the same car with very subtle differences. They are all very plain four door sedan's. One is a plain grey but very clean and polished. The next one is white with a light blue racing stripe. The one next to that is a simple hunter green smart car. Next to that is dark blue, followed by a cherry red one. The following one is all white and similar to the grey polished one. The final one is a very interesting greyish purple color. They seemed very plain and nondescript at first glance, but I have a feeling they really show the guys personalities in subtle ways.
