Chapter 4

"Elissa?"

Comes my mothers voice from behind me.

"Mum?!"

I say surprised.

"I didn't know you were home."

"I got home not long ago, who this?"

He asks me.

"You remember josh?"

I say hoping she doesn't but of course she would.

"Yes. I'm sorry josh but you need to leave."

She walks up to josh and pushes him out the door.

"Mum. He came to apologise."

I explain.

"I can't live through this again."

She says sighing.

"I can't loose you too."

"Your not going to loose me."

I tell her.

I give her a kiss on the cheek and walk upstairs.

I check my phone and I have a message from josh.

'Meet me at the lake'

I sneak downstairs and run down to the lake behind our houses, I think they moved back into their old house.

I jump the fence and josh is standing there, waiting for me.

He holds out a flower, I take it.

"I'm glad you came, I wasn't sure you would."

He says.

"Oh course I would."

I tell him.

He takes a step forward and pulls a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"You don't know who much I missed you."

"You don't know what Ive been through since you left."

I point out.

"I couldn't imagine."

He says.

"I lost my best friend who promised he would contact me but never did, I became depressed and turned to drugs and alcohol and then my dad died. So yeah you couldn't imagine what I've been through."

I say.

We stand there in silence for a few minutes.

Josh sits down and pulls my arms, so I sit next to him.

"I promise i'll never hurt you again, I made a promise and I should have kept it."

He says.

"Your right. You should have."

I say emotionlessly.

"Are you going to keep acting like this when I appologise?"

He asks me sighing.

"I'm sorry. You made a mistake and I should get over it."

I tell him.

"Do you want to give us a try?"

Asks josh.

I think for a moment and smile at him when I say

"Sure."

Josh goes to kiss my cheek but at the last second, I turn my head and kiss him on the lips.

It's a passionate kiss, his lips are so soft but firm at the same time.
