Chapter 11

"What?"

I look up at josh with a confused look.

But before he can answer, mum walks through the door

"Time to go home, my shift is finished. Do you need a lift josh?"

"No it's fine miss Cary, I have my motorbike."

He says, he looks upset.

"Only if you're sure."

Says mum.

Josh nods his head.

He kisses me and Samantha on the forehead and walks out the door.

We pull into the driveway at home and I don't see josh.

I walk inside and into Samantha's new room.

I put her down and I soon fall asleep.

I wake up the next morning to find Sam not in her room.

I run downstairs, I see josh holding her and mum sitting next to them, I sigh in relief.

I sit next to josh.

"Hey."

"Hey."

He says, planting a kiss on my cheek.

"I've got to get to work. Don't do anything. We don't need you pregnant again."

Mum jokes but still sounding serious, like she will break Josh's next if we do.

I watch as mum walks through the front door.

Josh hands Sam to me.

"So what did you say yesterday?"

I ask him.

"It's nothing. I forget I even said it."

He says.

"I'd rather not forget."

I say sternly.

"Ask me again, what ever it was."

"Ok."

He sighs.

"Will you marry me?"

I look at him with wide eyes.

Marry him!?

I try to say something but all that comes out is choking sounds.

Josh looks at me with his big brown eyes, he balls his hands into fists and storms out.

He stops at the door.

"It's mat isn't it?"

"What?"

I question

"I haven't said anything yet so you don't know."

"I should never have asked you."

He says and walks out.

I get up and follow him, Sam in my arms.

I stop when I get to the porch because he's no longer in sight.

I sight down and hug Sam tight, so tight that she winces.

I cry and soon Sam cries with me.

I sit there for an hour and then I see mat walking towards me.
