Chapter 6

- few weeks later -

I open my eyes and when my eyes adjust, I find myself in a hospital room.

I look at my arms and I'm hooked up to a machine.

I look to the left and I see mum asleep in a chair.

"Mum?"

I say in a rugged voice.

She stirs but than awakens and looks at me.

She jumps and says

"Elissa! How are you feeling?"

"My head hurts."

I say touching my hand to my head.

I look at my wrist and see a cast, I try to sit up but I can't, I lift up my shirt and the is a bandage wrapped around it.

"Why do I have a cast on my wrist and a bandage wrapped around my chest?"

"Well, when they examined you, you had a fractured wrist and you broke all your ribs."

She tells me.

I remember the accident vaguely.

"What happened to josh?!"

I question.

"He also had a fractured wrist, broke a few ribs and had a mild concussion."

She says.

"Is he still in hospital?"

I ask.

"He went home less than a week ago."

Mum tells me.

"Did he visit?"

I ask.

"He visited a few times before he went home.

I don't want you seeing him anymore."

She orders.

"But mum, the accident wasn't his fault. He lost control of the motorbike, I think his breaks failed."

I make a lie cause I don't want josh out of my life.

"I can't loose you, I almost did."

She says.

"Why what happened?"

I ask her.

"You had a serious brain injury, the doctors say your lucky that you don't have any mental disabilities."

She tells me.

"Oh. I can't promise you that I will never see josh again."

I tell her.

"Yes I can, from now on, your grounded."

She says just as the doctor walks in.

"Ahh Elissa. Your awake, how do you feel?"

He asks me.

"I have a headache."

I say again.

"Oh that's normal. It will go away in a few days. The cast will come of in a week or so."

He tells me.

"When can I go home?"

I ask.

"Now, if you want to."

He says.

"Yes please."

I say excitedly.
