SAM'S POV

We all ate our food in silence. Kevin and Steven hadn't waken up yet and we all had our different cereals. Sly's hair was sticking up at ends and he hadn't even bothered to put on his glasses. He was listening to music on his phone and staring into his cereal as if all of the answers were inside it.

Seamus Nova and Kootra looked half dead, obviously not getting any sleep the past night. I'm sure I didn't look too great either. I stayed in one of Aleks' hoodies (that I totally didn't steal) and boxer shorts. They had Hello Kitty on them and were extremely comfortable and I wasn't planning on changing at all today.

Sniffles were heard from down the hall. "Immortal?" I called, hoping to get a response.

"Morning." he called, his words followed by a short coughing fit.

Sly pulled out his earphones and turned around running and almost knocking down his best friend, engulfing him in a giant hug. "Whoa, dude chill. It's just some side effects, I should be fine by tomorrow."

"Please tell me you remember last night?" Kootra asked. Oh great, just another thing taken from Immortal's mind.

"Yeah it got really bad last night and then I kinda fell asleep." No one said a word. Obviously he was really out of it by the time Kevin saved him. He had a little more color than yesterday and his lips were back to a normal pink. Occasionally he would cough or sneeze but other than that he looked completely normal.

No one wanted to bring up what had happened. He wouldn't need any more stress. "Well we're just glad you're ok. At least feeling somewhat better."

"I'm ok, really." Thats when Kevin entered.

We all just stared not saying a word. He .blushed, the bottom of his bunny slippers brushed the hardwood floor. I swear you could have heard a pin drop. "Morning." He said sheepishly.

"Sup, cereal's in the cabinet." Immortal pointed above the sink and Kevin shook his head.

"We really should get going soon." He insisted.

"Dude, it's not a big deal, its just cereal. Steven's not even up yet." Immortal obviously didn't know.

Kevin poured his cereal and milk and sat in an empty seat at the table. "So what's the status on me? Has it worked yet?" Immortal was probably really worried about everything that was going on. I couldn't blame him.

"Well, in all truth..." he was stuttering and obviously trying to find the right words. "It's sped up." he mumbled.

"What?" Immortal asked. I knew he heard, but didn't want to believe it.

"I freaking sped it up ok!" Kevin screamed. He put his head in his hands.

I didn't know the look on Immortal's face. He just looked... broken. His mouth gaping open and staring down at the colorful cereal that swam around in the bowl. "I-I-um-I-uh." -he looked up at Kevin- "Why?" Was all he said. One word, with so much angst, and despair. Knowing there is no hope for himself. Saying this one word hit Kevin like a train.

"Look, I'm going to do all that I can to help you." Kevin pleaded.

"Just get out of here." Sly didn't even look up from his cereal. It would have been better if he screamed, or pinned Kevin to the floor. But Sly was defeated, and Kevin knew it was all his fault. "Please."

Kevin stood up but didn't leave he walked straight up to Immortal. Grabbing a small flashlight from the counter hand shined it into Immortal's eyes. "Tonight it starts getting worse. Prepare yourselves." With that Kevin grabbed Steven and began walking out the door.
