Alli's POV

"Alright. I'll meet you in there," I said to Ari before hanging up as I parked my car.

Today was supposed to be somewhat of a girl's day out but Mia had a test at school and Lexie had a family thing so it was just Ari and me.

She apparently had something VERY important to tell me that had to be said in person. She was usually over dramatic so I brushed it off as maybe a new pair of shoes.

I walked into the mall and headed straight towards Ari's and my favorite store. I walked in and spotted Ari immediately in some shorts and a simple shirt.

"Hey," I said walking up to her.

"Hi," she replied giving me a smile.

After going through several racks of clothing and trying on various items, we spotted a cropped sweatshirt that we both fell in love with. There was only one left and we shared the same size so we got into a friendly argument over it.

"Why can't we just do rock, paper, scissors and who wins gets it?" I suggested.

"You know you always win," Ari replied with a slight frown, "C'mon Alli, please?"

I shook my head. I wasn't giving up that easily.

"Let's ask somebody then who it would look better on," she implied.

I nodded in agreement before we walked over to one of the cashiers at the front. She was sitting on a bench on her phone popping bubbles with the gum she was annoyingly clapping in her mouth.

"Excuse me," I said getting her attention, "Would you mind telling my friend and I which one this would look better on?"

"It's not that I don't want to help; it's just that I don't care," she replied after a couple seconds.

Ari looked as if she was about to say something rude back to the girl but the girl spoke again.

"By the fitting rooms, there should be a girl over there who might actually care," she said pointing in the direction of the rooms with a completely fake smile.

I dragged Ari off knowing she would say something this time. We walked over and indeed there was a girl. She was taking clothing out of the fitting rooms that people had most likely left in there.

"Excuse me," Ari said.

The girl turned around and her jaw dropped.

"Oh gosh," she said.

"What?" Ari asked confused.

"Allison, is that you?" she asked.

"Tanya?" I replied. She nodded with a smile before coming over and enveloping me in a hug.

"I haven't seen you or talked to you in years!" she stated.

"Yeah, I know. It's been what, six years?" I answered still slightly shocked.

Tanya, Ari, and I went to high school together. Ari and I were best friends and Tanya was just a friend. Tanya always wanted to be in our little group but Ari always said no. She's never really liked her and I have no idea why because she's was always so nice and supportive.

"Wait, what is going on here? Am I missing something?" Ari asked confused.

"You don't remember me?" Tanya asked her after finally letting go of me, "We went to high school together in Florida."

"Oh yeah, Tanya. I remember you now," Ari replied without the slightest bit of care.

"Yup, I'm Tanya."
