I woke up with my mind racing about Brendon, as usual.

I grabbed my phone looking for any sign of Brendon, and saw something.

Brendon: hey I can't stop thinking of you😕 want to meet up for brunch??

Ellie: id love to😊

Brendon: pick u up in thirty?

Ellie: sounds good🙂

I rushed around getting ready, I jumped around my house, pulling my jeans over my legs.

There was a knock on the door and I quickly grabbed my shoulder bag, and my phone.

I opened the door and Brendon smiled. "Ready?" Brendon chuckled and I nodded.

We were walking along the brick road, laughing about old childhood stories.

"Can we sit here for a second?" Brendon asked pointing to a bench, and I nodded, smiling.

We sat down, and Brendon turned to me, "I want to let you know something before anything happens."

"Okay," I nodded.

"I know that even if you run a blog about getting over your ex, that you're not over Garret, and I completely understand that," Brendon assured and I nodded. "After a couple nights ago when we held hands, and I wanted to make sure you knew that I understand if you want to take things slow, and don't want everything to go so quickly."

I looked down at my hands then looked up at Brendon. "Thank-you," I smiled, "it means a lot."

"I know," Brendon put his hand over mine. "Ready for brunch?"

"Yes," I smiled.

Brendon and I walked down the streets telling each other random things about ourselves.

"Ellie Manchester, is that you?" A familiar voice asked, and I froze.

"Ellie?" Brendon stopped.

"Look who's trying to move on," Duncan taunted, and I grabbed Brendon's arm, turning the opposite way, and walking. "Who's that with you?"

"Ellie," Brendon turned to me.

"Go, go, go, run!" I yelled, and Brendon and I ran across the crosswalk, the the lights turned green.

Duncan was on the other side.

"Ellie?" Brendon repeated.

"Yeah," I ran my hand through my hair as we began walking again.

"Who was that?" Brendon asked.

"One of my childhood enemies who turned my life to shit," I replied, and Brendon nodded.

"Okay, you alright?" Brendon smiled and I nodded.

"I looked like an idiot, but I honestly don't care because he'd continue to follow us," I sighed.

"As long as you're okay now, it's fine," Brendon wrapped his arm around me.

"I'm okay," I smiled up and Brendon.

"Then show me around some more, I don't want that asshole to ruin our date," the word slipped and Brendon's face turned red almost instantly.
