After the movie had ended I walked with Coda down the stairs and walked out the room.
"Ok well me an Coda better be going" said Alex with a small annoyed look like in his eyes.
"Wait. I wanna hang out with Zack." She paused and looked at Alex. "Is that okay?" She asked quietly.
"N-" I cut him off.
"Cmon bro. Let her hang out with me. I'll keep her safe" I said wrapping an arm around her waist.
I could see anger fill his eyes when he saw my actions.
"Fine, I'm going home. Be safe Coda" he said angrily before stomping away.
"What's wrong with him..?" Coda asked to herself.
I shrugged it off and led Coda to my car.
"So where do you wanna go Nerd?" I asked jokingly.
She giggled and said "How 'bout the arcade?"
"Sure. Hop in"
We drove for about 15 minutes before arriving at an Arcade. It had a big gaming logo on the front door and I could see neon lights shining through the blank Windows.
We went in and walked over to the coin machine and got 1,000 coins. 500 for me and 500 for Coda.
"I wanna do Skeeball first" said Coda excitingly.
"Ok let's go"
She walked over to a game and put in 2 coins. 10 balls came out of the pipe and the game started. She threw a few balls into '50' and a few balls in the '20'.
"I got 50 tickets" she said with a smile. I could her eyes light up. The first thing I fell for were her beautiful green eyes.
"Zack?" Asked Coda shaking my arm. I guess I got lost in her eyes.
"Hm?" Was all I could say.
"Did you hear what I said?" She asked tilting her head.
"Oh no sorry I got distracted." I responded.
"Oh, I said we should play basketball" she said with a smile.
"Oh. Sure" I smiled and grabbed her hand, walking to the game.
As the game came closer I noticed a little boy crying next to the game.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Asked Coda in the nicest tone.
"I-I l-lost m-my m-mommy.." He said while rubbing his eyes.
"Want me to help you find her?" She asked.
"Y-yes p-please" the little boy grabbed her hand and we started looking for his mother.
"Jason!" Yelled a woman as she came running towards us.
"Mommy!" He yelled back.
"Don't you ever scare me like that!" Said the woman while picking him up.
"S-sorry" he said.
"Thank you so much for looking out for my son. It means a lot" thanked the woman.
"No problem, he's a cutie" said Coda while smiling at both of them.
The little boy blushed and hid his face in his mothers neck. They walked off leaving me and Coda alone again.
"Your a sweet person" I said while looking at Coda's beautiful face.
"I-I am? It's just m-my instinct to help people" she said said while looking down.
I lifted her head up to face me. I leaned in a bit just enough for our lips to have no gap.
"Your truly amazing" I said before pulling away. I wanted to kiss her but not here. I wanted the setting to be perfect.
I could feel Coda's eyes on me as I grabbed her hand and walked back to the basketball machine. Me and Coda went against each other but we all know who won. Me!
After the basketball game I walked over to a claw machine with stuffed toys and put in 4 coins. I moved the joy stick around until I saw a turtle. I pushed the red button and saw the claw go down and grab it. The claw pulled the turtle up and dropped it in the prize box. As soon as it hit the metal box, I grabbed it and gave it to Coda.
"Y-you got this for me?" She asked tilting her head. I mimicked her and tilted my head too.
"W-what are you doing?" She asked.
"Doing what your doing, tilting my head"
"I-I don't do that. Do I?" She asked tilting her head again.
"Mhm"
She got embarrassed and looked down. I leaned in and kissed her head in attempt to make her feel better.
"Don't be embarrassed nerd it's cute" I said while smiling to myself.
This felt right. Just me and her. Just the 2 of us.
