I slowly folded the t-shirts we sold back into place after a group of teenagers ruined them. I shook my head "God dammit, these kids" I growled, putting my coffee down as I organized everything. People didn't care about shit unless they did it themselves.

"Oh, stop being mean" Maria laughed, scratching my head gently. I turned around to look at her, her short light brown hair pushed behind her ears. I smiled at her, Maria was like a mother to me, I have no idea where I'd be without her.

"Did you meet Adam?" I asked, picking my coffee back up and sipping it, her eyebrows furrowed and she leaned back against a table that held boxes of new records I had to organize. She shook her head, looking around the store. I pointed him out to her as he leaned over the records, organizing them alphabetically. "Started yesterday, he's alright." I called him over, he looked up and Maria smiled. He scratched his arm, a nervous habit so it seemed and he walked over. "Adam, this is Maria, she's the owner" he smiled at her, and Maria loved him that second.

"I knew Dean would find someone who's friendly and not an asshole like her" I rolled my eyes and Adam chuckled a little bit, scratching the back of his head.

"Shut up" I turned and walked away, letting them talk a little bit. I tended the register, checking out customers as they bought stuff, today wasn't as dead as usual, lots of records flying out but mostly the CD's not so much the vinyls. No one really had a record player anymore, but Maria wanted to keep it authentic, so we started selling both. I looked up as Maria brought stuff our from the back, shirts and merchandise while Adam helped a guy find some albums, they were laughing, I guess he was doing a good job, didn't regret hiring him so far.

I tired my hair up in a pony tail, chewing my gum audibly as I fixed the cash in the register. "Stop chewing so loud, Dean, Jesus" Maria nagged, I stuck my tongue out at her but continued to chew quietly. "Where'd you find Adam? He's adorable!" She smiled at me, getting up to stand next to me. I paused for a moment.

"I don't know he just walked in here and asked for a job, so I hired him"

"You didn't interview him?"

"Nah, he needed a job, seemed reliable too" Maria laughed, shaking her head.

"Well, your instincts have never been wrong" she went to the back to finish some inventory. I let out a groan, I was exhausted and didn't get much sleep last night. The door opened and I looked up to greet the customer, but cursed to myself when I realized who it was.

"Hey, babe" jake smiled at me, this guy who came in all the time trying to hit on me and take me out, but no matter how much I refused him he kept coming back. He leaned on the front desk, bringing his stupid ugly face as close as he could to mine, I moved back.

"Yo, if you ain't buying somethin then get out, I don't wanna go anywhere with you, alright? You gotta stop coming in here and harassing me." He chuckled, his light blue eyes stared me down, and he licked his bottom lip.

"You're gonna have to say yes sometime, come on Dean" he persisted, taking his hands out of his leather jacket and placing them palm down on the counter. "Come on babygirl" I walked away, trying to ignore him and put some CDs back, the ones customers grabbed and decided at the last second they didn't want it anymore.

He followed me around the store, whispering to me, telling me he would treat me right and make me feel good. He made me sick. "Jake" I sighed, turning around to look at him. "I don't want you, alright? I'm just not interested, fuck." Before I could turn around from him he backed me up into the wall of records and I began to have a panic attack, he touched me, I wasn't even safe in a fucking public place. I pushed him away roughly, he stumbled back but came closer to me again, a smile on his face.

"Come on, Dean I just wanna fuck you-"

"HEY, HEY WOAH WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?" I heard Adam intersect as he walked straight in. Between me and Jake, preventing me from punching him in his teeth. I put my hand on Adams shoulder.

"Hey, it's alright I got-"

"Yeah, mind your own business" Jake cut me off, and it was a mistake thinking Adam was a pussy, because he punched him right in the teeth.

"Shut the fuck up" he growled.

"ADAM!" I yelped as Jake's head fell back, and Adam was staring at him with this ferocity in his eyes, he was NOT what I expected. Thankfully, there weren't any customers in the store. Adam's fists were clenched and his eyes didn't come off of Jake for a second.

"You need to get out that was disrespectful" Adam spoke calmly now as Jake groaned and held his mouth.

"What are you fucking crazy bro?!" He yelled, causing Maria to come out from the back and see what was going on. I didn't know what to think, I was still shocked that Adam actually punched him.

"Don't fucking assault women." Jake left quickly, and I wondered if he was gonna press charges. Adam turned around on his heel to face me.

"You ok?" He asked, and when I nodded he went straight back to work. I looked at Maria who was just as confused as I am.

"Adam I could've handled it" I spoke, fixing the cd's on the opposite side of where he was working.

"I know" he spoke, not looking up from the cd's and organizing them with concentration. "But he assaulted you, so I punched him in the face"

"You can't just punch people in the face" I chuckled, but Adam looked up, a serious look on his face.

"You can't just harass girls at their work either, can you?" My smile faded, and I could there was a lot more to it than it looked like. It was silent, but a few more customers came in that Maria attended, I'd explain to her later what happened so she wouldn't get mad at Adam. "Me and Tayler are going out for food later, she's sick of my cooking, you wanna come or something?" He's known me only two days and he already wants to do shit, I was quiet, thinking to myself if it was something I'd want to do, his sister seemed pretty cool and I mean if I was gonna work with the guy, might as well get to know him. "Don't have to, just if you have nothing better to do-"

"Yeah, I like food" I replied, and he laughed.

"Not like you need it or anything" he spoke sarcastically, looking at me and I examined his face properly for the first time. He wasn't anything like I expected him to be, and a lot calmer now that he wasn't in his sisters medication, maybe he wasn't as annoying as I thought.

"SHIT, LOOK" he grabbed this stupid Kylo Ren mask we sold and slipped it on. Nevermind, he's annoying. He cleared his throat, and said some lines I assumed that were from the movie.

"You know... You kinda look like him" I said cocking my head to the side and thinking about the character, he took the mask off and shook his head, a stupid smile plastered on his face.
