So, I don't really like the second half of this chapter.... I've rewritten it (the chapter in all it's entirety) dozens of time due to writer's block. I feel bad that it's taken me awhile to update, but I've been working almost twenty-four-seven. I barely have time to even write, let alone, think!
Anyway, here's my chapter... I'll try to update sooner. Promise!

P.S. This chapter is dedicated to xxTimeBreakerxx because of the fantabulous comment she left on the recent chapter. It actually made my heart swell! So, thankyou again for the very lovely comment! <3

Chapter 17 ~ Smell of Fear
KC’s P.O.V.
“Where are we going?” A twig snapped beneath my foot as I walked through the woods. The sunlight was snaking through the thick canopy like gold silk ribbon, the scenery thick with shrubs, ferns, and moss-covered trees. It was a familiar place, but I couldn’t place my finger on when I had seen it.
“You’ll see when we get there,” Damon answered. He was walking just behind me with a grey backpack clinging onto him and even though I’ve questioned its contents, Damon has refused to tell me.
I continued to walk, shoving my hands into my pockets as a moist breeze pulled at my hair, smelling of an oncoming storm. I could feel that my wolf felt it, too, because she was hidden in the crevices of my mind, her concern on our baby, no doubt.
“Are we almost there?” I asked tiredly, not in the mood for Damon’s games. I don’t care what it was that Damon wanted to show me because all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and fade away into my dark sanctuary. At least there I could try to draw out our plan of action.
“It’s right around that boulder,” my mate pointed and I let out a sigh as I trudged forward and maneuvered around the massive rock. When my eyes scanned the area, my breath caught in my throat and my arms fell slack. Two vine-draping trees leaned into each other over a flat stone slab, beautiful carvings engraved into the sides. Wild flowers painted the flat piece of land, receiving light through the opening where the trees parted overhead. Immediately I recognized it as the place where Damon and I were married.
“Surprised?” Damon smirked proudly, coming up beside me with one hand shoved coolly into his pocket while the other rested on the strap of his backpack.
“Shocked,” I replied, taking in the august memory before looking up at him, his gaze set on the stone slab. “Why’d you bring me here?”
“The pack house is a little over whelmed right now. I wanted you out of it for a while and I don’t think anyone would look for us here.” He smiled softly as he slid his hand into mine and led me forward towards the stone.
“Anyone know we’re here?”
“Dan and Amber,” he stated, dropping his backpack before grabbing me by the waist and lifting me up onto the flat surface. His hands slid teasingly down my thighs and then rested on my knees, spreading them so he could stand in between them and in front of me, his hands resting against the stone on either side of me.
“What are you doing?” I whispered with a small smile as his lips hovered over mine, his hot breath teasing my skin.
“Nothing,” he taunted playfully as he brought his lips to my ear, the stubble along his jaw tickling my cheek. I shuddered when he nibbled on my earlobe, his hand gliding over my thigh.
