ONE week goes by and one morning I wake up late and see Coal grinning at me, his pretty eyes beaming at me. I jump up and he laughs while I stare at him in shock. My shock disperses so I scowl at him while he clutched his stomach as he laughs.
"We are late for class but it's only science." He shrugs as he fiddles with his phone, his hair draping over his eyes.
"You scared me Jai." I scold and catch him flinching. My face soften and I whisper. "If you don't want me to call you that, it's fine."
Coal smiles reassuringly and shakes his head. "But I like it when you say it." He leans it kiss me but it's quick. I pout, wanting more, but he laughs.
"Get ready."
I reluctantly get out from bed and stumble into my closet, changing into black skinny jeans, a halter neck crop top and boots. I tie my hair in high ponytail and give myself a side fringe then I do my makeup. While I do the finishing touches of my makeup, Coal walks into the closet, hands shoved in his pocket.
"You look gorgeous." He says and leans against the doorway, smirking.
"Thank you." I grab my shoulder bag before I leave the room, smiling softly at Coal. I kiss his lip and take hold of his hand, dragging him down spiral stairs.
He opens the door and let's me go first before closing the door. I walk down the stairs, coming to an abrupt stop when I see a shiny, slick motorbike in front of me, two helmets dangling at the back.
"Is this how you came around mine?" I ask eagerly, and he nods with a cocky grin. Coal walks over to the bike and passes me a helmet before putting one on himself.
"I'm so happy that I choose not to wear a dress." I sigh as I take the helmet and slip it over my head.
"At least you can cling onto me." Coal teases and I whack his arm. We get into the bike, my arms wrapped tightly around Coals waist.
"Hold on." He gears up the engine and I smile at his laughter as we ride through the city. The wind slashing against my face and different scents blur my senses.
I squeal with joy when we make a sharp turn and zig zag around the cars like a bullet. Soon we get to school and Coal parks at the end of the school. He jumps off the motorbike first before taking my hand and helping me come off. I pass my helmet to him and he puts them away then I slip my arm through his as we walk to the office.
"Elle, Coal, why are you late?" Mr Monte asks, the Headmaster, when he spots us head towards the classrooms.
"Dad had some business to attend and I need to go with him, Coal came along." I say casually.
"Coal, you saw Mr Kolsov?" Mr Monte stutters, gobsmacked.
"Yes, sir. He was very interesting." Coal says carefully with a smirk as I tighten my arms around him with a grin. "We are going to head to class."
"Let's go." We enter science mid way through an experiment, catching everyone's attention, mostly my friends.
"Sorry we're late Miss. We had a incident." Coal lies as we take a seat in the middle bench.
"Elle, where were you?" Stacey asks, keeping her voice low.
"Dad just had somethings now and then so we just were with him." I answer, concentrating on my worksheet, knowing what questions comes next when I realise the mistake I just made.
"We?" I look at my friends' wide eyes as they glance back and forth between Coal and I, obviously wanting to know the gossip.
"Yeah, Jai and I went to Dad's events. It's not a big deal." I shrug.
"Jai?" Stacey asks as the same time as Alex went.
"He saw your dad?"
"It's a nickname, don't you guys use it and the to answer you're question Alex, I did see her dad. He's a lovely man." Coal smirking when he sees Alex fuming with anger then he glances at me as I snicker.
"Sure, lovely." I snort out, making everyone but Alex laugh.
"Can we get back in task?" Miss Daisy says impatiently, and we start doing our work again, not bringing up the topic again.
At lunch, we sit around the table and start talking about Ash's party tonight and the weekend. I kept sneaking glares at Alison but when she catches my eyes, I grin at her and watch her return one back, oblivious on what's going on.bAlex steals quick glances at me and they're not soft ones but hard while Coal takes my hand under the table and starts fiddling with my bracelet.
"Elle?" Alex whispers. I look up to see him motioning to follow him so I sigh and nod reluctantly.
I get up and Coal gives me a questioning look and I blow a playful kiss, watching him roll his eyes before leaving the lunch hall. We walk down the hall to outside, the carpark desolate and silent but I knew someone is watching. Someone always is. Perks of being the Mafia's daughter.
"Is this why you asked me about your dad?" Alex suddenly asks.
"Maybe." I admit. "I mean, I didn't take notice of it until Macon said something."
"What did he say?" Alex narrows his eyes and I shrug, annoyed that now he cares when one week ago he didn't want nothing from me.
"Why does it matter?" I snap. "You cheated on me anyways!"
"It matters because my beautiful girlfriend has left me." Alex grits, taking hold my hands. His grip tightens as he says his words, low and threatening. "Was it because of Coal?"
"Alex, you're hurting me." I whisper, wincing at the pain, but he doesn't let go instead he tightens his grip, eyes so cold with hatred.
"Answer me." He says firmly, anger boiling inside of him.
"No. Now let me go." I hiss but he doesn't.
"It was him. He said something to make your mind turn twisted." Alex snarls, eyes dark and twisted.
"Alex let me go-" Someone punches Alex on the side and he stumbles onto the ground, clutching onto the part where he was hit. I glance behind me to see Cola glare venomously at Alex as he tries to get to his feet.
"She said let go so you let go." Coal hisses and wraps his arms around me, my heart trying to find its rhythmic pace again. I tucks myself into his chest, rubbing the part when Alex held me in my wrist, a purplish bruise beginning to form.
"Please, let's just go." I whisper. As we walk back to his motorbike, I glance over my shoulder to see Alex glaring at us.
This isn't the last time I see him. I know it and deep down I know the next time I won't like what I see.
