IN the morning, I sit up in a bedroom, my clothes neatly folded on the vanity. The French doors are open, letting the sunshine come in and the waves and coconut smell drift in.

The silk blankets cover up my sated body as I sigh with happiness, memories of yesterday rushing back to my thoughts. I get out of bed and slip on all my lingerie, leaving my dress to the side. My lips are swollen and my body is sore but it is worth it, every second of yesterday was worth it.

Although it's scary that it can go in a split second if someone hurts him, if anyone came after him. I wouldn't be able to deal with the pain. I hate thinking about him getting hurt, I can't stand that thought. My heart thumps and I finally understand why I'm feeling guilty about all this between us.

I lean against the doorway and watch the waves roll in. I'm so confused. I can't let anyone get to Coal, I can't lose him because now he's my everything. The Chip is far in the back of my mind and Coal's safety is my top priority. Dad will be disappointed if he finds out that I haven't been looking for the Chip.

The Chip. A small USB that brought me and Coal together.

"Chantelle." I turn around to see Coal in just his shorts, revealing his naked torso. My heart does a big summersault and I grin happily, loving the view.

"Morning Jai." I reply and walk up to him. His arms curl around my hips as mine around his neck.

"Had a good sleep?" He asks and I laugh.

"With you beside me? Of course." I say and kiss him. I want him all over again. "Where have you been?"

"Breakfast. Come on." He swoops me in his arms and I squeal as he walks to the living room.

He sets me down on the couch and passes me my food. We just talk and eat and joke around, any doubts in my mind from before disappearing every time I look at him. Time passes by and I relax into Coal like I've known him forever, like this can be our forever.

"Shall we head to school?" Coal asks and I sigh, knowing we are going to have to one day.

"No. I want to stay with you." I argue and he chuckles.

"We can't keep missing schools." Coal argues and twines his fingers through my hair, kissing the top of my head softly.

"It doesn't matter if I don't go back but you need to. I think you should head back and then miss me so that you'll come back here and never leave me again." I pop a strawberry in my mouth and watch him stare at me in amusement, his eyes glittering as his lips curve into a smirk.

"What?" I ask, smiling.

"You are absolutely amazing."

Suddenly he pushes the plates aside, letting them fall onto the fall and clatter, then he takes my lips and collide them with his. I gasp in shock but soon I allow myself to kiss him and fall under his charms. He lifts me onto his lap and I run my fingers through his locks, sighing with happiness and peace. My heart feels like it's beating a hundred times when Coal grins at me, revealing his dimples. I bite onto his lower lips, a growl releasing from his lips, and he kisses me back stronger.

After, we just lay in each other's arms. Coal plays with my hair, twirling it between his fingers.

"Chantelle?" He whispers and I look up at him and smile.

"Yes?"

"Do we ever have to stop?" He questions and I frown, hating myself already because I have an idea on what he's talking about and I wish that he brought it up later and not now. Not when we are so happy with each other.

"Stop what?"

"Us. You told me it can only last a while." Coal whispers softly and I sit up, not catching his gaze.

"Well, we have to. You can't get hurt, it would kill me if you do. Dad won't hurt you because he knows that it will hurt me." I explain, trying not to let my voice crack.

"Why does it have to stop? I enjoy being your boyfriend." Coal sits up and cups my face, his eyes trying to find mine but I don't let him, guilty swarming my eyes.

"Because if we fall in love," my voice breaks and I pull myself away from Coal. "You'll be dead."

I hate having to say it but it's true. People will come after the person who I love the most. This is what I get for being in such a dangerous family, in such a dangerous game.

"I can look after myself." He argues angrily, annoyed that I'm not making eye contact with him.

"You can but what about your family?" Coal stiffens and I stand up with a distraught sigh. "Love is the worst part in business, it's also why dad never shows full affection towards me. Just accept it."

My tears swell up and Coal catches it so I walk away to the bedroom and dress myself so we can head home. The ride home is very quiet and awkward, we don't speak to each nor make eye contact. I try avoid Coal's gaze and stare at the waves, watching them crash into the speedboat angrily and I can't help but feel so angry and made with myself. When I get home, Coal begins to talk but rethinks it, closing his mouth when I look away from him.

"I'll miss you." I whisper and his head shoots up, anger and sadness clear on his face.

"Wait. Are you leaving me now?" Coal asks, furious as he storms towards me.

"I am meant to but you made it slightly harder." I smile lopsided as I have him a knowing look but he doesn't look amused, pissed off clear on his face.

I don't want to but the thoughts of him hurt or dead, his family harmed, it just fills me with pure guilty and I can't have them like that. I might as well walk away now before anything happens to them later because I was too selfish to walk away then.

"Chantelle, not now." He pleas, his eyes begging and I almost stay, I almost give in.

Almost.

"I have to, Dad told me I'm flying somewhere. I won't be back for quite a long time."

"Chantelle-" Before he can say anything, I kiss him on his lips for the last time, our kids sad and lost, all passion from before replaced with hurt and anger.

"Go. Before I hurt you."  I whisper and feel a teardrop on my cheeks.

"You already have." Coal says firmly as he grips onto my arm. "I'm not leaving you."

"But I don't want you, Coal." I lie and look away, knowing I've hurt him the most.

"Chantelle, that's not true." His voice small and timid, something I've never heard before from him. I don't look back at him, afraid that if I do, I'll fall straight back into his arms.

"Just go Coal. There's nothing you can say to change my mind."

I shake him off and walk inside my house, closing the doors and running to my bedroom where I fall onto my bed, collapsing into tears.
