Chapter 5

*RING...RING...RING...RING*

"Hello?" I hear her sweet voice.

It takes me a moment to speak up "H-hey Tori, it's Toby!"

"Oh hey Toby, I'm surprised you called so soon, most guys wait a day or two."

"Oh yeah? Well listen, my friend is having this party tonight and I thought maybe you would like to go with me? Y-you know as friends, like buds, pals..." I mentally slapped myself in the face, what the fuck was wrong with me?

She laughs "Sure, that sounds like fun!"

"Great, I was thinking we could go get some coffee beforehand. The party starts at 9pm, so we've got about 3 hours. I can come pick you up."

"I think that'd be nice."

She gives me her address and I write it down on a piece of paper. I quickly run to the bathroom and take a quick shower then put on a long-sleeve blue Tobuscus shirt and shorts, that seems to be all I wear. I brush my teeth and head out the door.

I pull up to the apartment complex and put in the code Tori gave me to open the gate so I can park.

"Number 28" I say to myself quietly, looking down at the paper as I close my car door and start walking to the complexes.

After walking around a bit, I find #28 on the 2nd floor. I walk up the outside stairs and knock on the door, stuffing my hands in my pockets.

"Toby? Is that you?" She shouts.

"Yeah."

"Come in, I'm almost ready," she shouts again.

I turn the knob and as soon as I open the door, I'm hit with the smell of vanilla and roses. I close the door behind me and survey my surroundings, Tori not in sight.

"For an apartment, this is pretty nice" I say in my head. To my right, there's a dark brown couch and a coffee table in front of it. On the opposite wall to my left, there is a dark brown half-circle table with a small, possibly 28", TV with an Xbox hooked up to it. Past the living room, straight ahead, seems to be the kitchen with an extended counter and bar stools. The doorway beside the counter seems to be leading to the rest of the apartment, where Tori must be.

I take a seat on the couch and check my phone while I wait. It's 6:45pm.

After a few minutes of raging at Angry Birds, Tori appears through the doorway. No longer in her running clothes, she looked exceptionally gorgeous. I was at a loss of words. She was wearing a lightly colored Aztec tank which showed off her toned arms. She had light blue, almost mint, shorts that made her look a lot more tan and showed off her toned, sexy legs. She had on black vans and a gold arrow like necklace and 2 bracelets, one gold and pink and the other gold and blue. Everything complimented her figure nicely and her wavey dirty blonde hair and mesmerizing hazel eyes framed her face quite well.

"Is this okay? Should I change?" She said, seemingly worried as she saw my face with my mouth wide open.

"No, no it's great! I just haven't seen you before in anything other than your running clothes." I say, finally finding my voice.

"Well, we should get going if we want to get coffee." She says with a smile, her white teeth glistening.

"Yeah, absolutely."

We walk down to my car and get in. I put the key in the ignition and drive towards the nearest Starbucks.

As we're driving, I turn and look at Tori and smile. Everything about her makes my heart do a little flip-flop and puts a skip in my step.

She finally noticed me looking at her. "You know, I haven't seen you smile once until now. You have really great teeth." She says and laughs.

"What chu talkin' 'bout girl? I smile all the time!" I about in my ghetto voice. She laughs.

I apologize for not updating sooner, I've been incredibly busy and just haven't found the motivation to continue writing. I'll try to write more often, I promise! :3 Bye for now!
