Chapter 7
Logan reluctantly after several days agreed to finally have supper with his mother, I really didn't care much about this news until he told me that Melissa and I were coming along with him. He said we didn't have to dress up too much, just wear a nice shirt so that I could handle. It was just the fact that I actually had to talk to his mother. I hated parents, they're too controlling and by the way Logan was talking about her she was a real bag.
The meal was planned for Saturday night at seven so I had about a week or so to prepare ways to break the ice and make things less awkward. I was pretty good at coming up with things on the spot, years of practice and years of lies you could say.
On Friday night Nikki invited me to go shopping with her, Joey laughed at the fact that I had agreed but it was only because I needed a few friends in order to not look skeptical. Not that I have anything to be skeptical about but just in case.
I didn't have much money to spend considering I didn't really have a job or anything, plus it's not like I had family members to give me money to spend so basically I went to watch Nikki try on clothes which was the worst experience of my life. I hated a lot of things in this world; people, clothing, malls... All of which I had combined into one horrible event.
Remind me never to go clothes shopping again.
I bailed as soon as I could telling her I had to go home because Logan and I were in an intense tournament of Mario Kart and I promised him I would be home to play.
She thought I was kind of odd for wanting to play video games but I would much rather be in the comfort of my own home then to be here brushing shoulder to shoulder with strangers every five seconds.
I tried to call Logan to come get me, then I tried Melissa, I also tried Joey but he was intoxicated already. So that meant I took a crowded LRT home or the bus, or I could walk.
It wasn't that far so I decided to walk.
That was a bad decision.
I was about a block away from my apartment, and considering I lived in the sketchy part of town I was just slightly paranoid. I had heard a lot of stories from Joey about this area, he had gotten mugged here before and there's been several vandalizing incidents, plus a robbery or two one of them occurring right before I had moved here. I made it home alive so that was a plus, however if I hadn't I wouldn't have been mad.
Logan was sitting on the couch in his sweatpants that had a hole in the knee. "I had to walk home because you didn't answer your damn phone," I complained to him slamming the door behind me.
He glanced over and shrugged. "Not my problem," he said turning back to the TV. He was watching a movie I didn't recognize.
I glared at the back of his head. "I could have died out there asshole."
He never answered so I headed down the hall towards my room. I changed into my pajama pants that were too short for me, pulled my fuzzy socks on and shoved my short pant legs into them. I kept the shirt I was wearing earlier on before heading back into the living room.
Logan was at the stove stirring something, I walked over to see what he was doing. "Why is there weed in that pot?" I asked him.
He grinned, "Because we're gonna make brownies."
I frowned. "Brownies?" I deadpanned.
"Yeah, hash brownies. Are you in?" he asked raising his eyebrows.
