'Jane? Jane, wake up.'
I opened my eyes.
'C'mon Jane, this is serious.'
'What's the matter grandma?'
'There is somebody at the door that needs to speak to you.'
'Who?'
'I don't know, but it's not looking good.'
'I'll be downstairs in 5.'
She left the room and I quickly grabbed my shirt of the floor. I had no idea who wanted to speak to me so urgent.
I came into the living room where I saw my grandma looking at me from her chair with a worried face. A man in a grey suit was sitting with his back towards me. I had no idea who this man was.
I walked over to my grandma. The man stood up and stuck out his hand. I shaked it.
'Hello Miss Edwards, I'm George Reinard. I'm a laywer.'
I nodded.
'I'm here to talk about your brother.'
'Yes.'
'The judges released him. He is free after 5 years, there was no hard evidence on him. If your brother tries to contact you I want you to report that to me. Can you do that?'
I nodded again.
He was about to walk out of the house when suddenly he turned back around.
'Be careful, Miss Edwards.'
Then, he left.
'Jane, is everything okay?'
'Yes.'
I ran upstairs.
Why didn't I tell him my brother already called me? Was I protecting him? No Jane, get that out of your head.
Sunday. God damnit. School tomorrow.

I arrived at school with Jordan. We walked to our class.
'Is everything okay?'
'Yes, why wouldn't it be?'
'You seem a bit distracted.'
'I'm fine Jordan.'
'Just asking.'
'Sorry.'
It was a long day, a very long day. The ride home was quiet, scary. We went for a smoothie to talk.
'Hey Jordan, I need to ask you something.'
'What?'
'Are we a couple?'
'I don't know, do you want to be.'
'I don't know. You?'
'I don't know either.'
'Maybe we should stop making out and stuff.'
'Why?'
'Because you're my best friend. Making out with each other isn't what best friends do you know.'
'I like making out with you.'
'Me too but I have no feelings for you, I mean, there not very strong.'
He looked down before he talked again.
'Is there somebody else?'
'No.'
