sudden feelings

Chapter 52

Natalie's pov:

It took a week to get officially moved in to the new place, we made sure that only close family and friends know our address, me and Luke are cuddling on the couch watching a movie because Liz took the babies grocery shopping with her so we decided to watch a movie, and as we decide to make some popcorn the door bell rings, I get up and walk towards the door, I open it and it's just the mail man, " Hello! Package for Natalie Montgomery " he said looking at the package, " That's me! Does it say who it's from? " I asked taking the package, Luke walks up behind me as I sign for it, he peeks over my shoulder, " Nosey are we? " I asked, " No just looking for mistakes " he said, " Wha- " I was about to finish, " Your last name! It should say Hemmings " he said, I looked over my shoulder to see him smirking, he's right though I did write Montgomery instead of Hemmings " Oops! " I said innocently and fix my mistake, " We've been married almost a year and I still make that mistake " I said with a small laugh, I thank the mail man and close the door.

I set the package on the counter and unwrap it till I see the box, I open it and look inside. There's 3 envelopes, a smaller wrapped box, a journal, a set of keys and a rectangular shaped wooden box, I took them all out one by one and set them on the counter throwing away the box and wrapping paper, I started with the journal, I unwrapped the string and opened to the first page and started reading

Dearest Natalie,                 July. 12, 1993

You were born 23 years ago about a month ago, which for me is today, the day I'm writing this, I wanted to tell you how proud to be a parent I am and if you are reading this I have passed away and I am truly sorry I'm not still there for you! I am writing this to tell you that everything you have just received is yours, in the 3 envelopes there is 2 000 000 dollars! That's your inheritance and the wooden box well you'll see what's in that! The same as the smaller wrapped box, the keys tho are for 4 different things, 1. A car 2. A beach house 3. My savings box at the Sydney bank uptown and 4. It's for the wooden box. I love you baby girl! Please don't ruin your life like I did! You were my world and I did everything to keep you safe!

I was crying after reading the whole thing, I flipped to the next page but the rest of the book was blank, I grabbed the envelopes and looked inside, like the journal said there was cash inside of them, I picked up the keys, they were labeled, 1. House 2. Car 3. Bank 4. Box, I picked up the one that said box and then grabbed the box and shoves the key into the lock, I turned it and lifted the cover. Inside the box was a golden bracelet with my name engraved and two diamonds, one at the beginning and one at the end of my name, then there's a necklace to match and a ring as well. After that box I moved on to the smaller wrapped box, I unwrapped it to find almost like an engagement ring box, I open it to find almost like a mans ring but in woman form, I take out all the jewelry and Put it on, as I take the ring out of the box I accidentally knock the box onto the floor, I hear something move around like when you shake a box so I put it up and open it. I take the bottom out and find another ring with my name engraved into the band.

" What's all that baby? " Luke asks coming over to the counter, " It's all from my dad, it's all mine! 2 million dollars, this expensive jewellery and these keys to a car, a beach house and a saving box at the bank! " I say quietly, I look up at Luke and he had a look of pure amazement and shock, " we're rich! " I say and he smiles, I smile back and he rushes around an hugs me, picking me up and kissing me repeatedly.
