"No!" Aubrey screamed, in shock. She just found her daughter passed out on the bathroom floor. "God, please, no!"

Aubrey grabbed the phone and called 911. "Hello?" She called frantically.

"911, what is your emergency?" asked someone calmly. The voice appeared to be that of a woman's. How could someone have so much tranquility at a time like this?

"My daughter is lying on the bathroom floor," Aubrey cried. "Please get someone out here."

"Ma'am, does she have a pulse?" asked the woman.

"Let me check," said Aubrey. "She is breathing, though. I think she's just passed out."

Aubrey didn't speak for a moment, to concentrate on taking her daughter's pulse. At last, she responded. "Yes, she has a pulse, but it seems kind of slow."

"Okay, would you confirm your address please?" Asked the woman, riddling off an address.

"Correct."

"Okay, I've got a squad sent out right now. If you have a porch light please turn it on so they know where they're going. Stay with your daughter. If you have further trouble call me again for more instruction."

"Thank you." Aubrey hung up. She observed her passed out daughter. It was strange, but she never looked more peaceful in her life.

Strangely, a sense of peace washed over herself, as well.

A few minutes passed, and a team of paramedics paraded in. "How can we help you?"

"My daughter, with cancer," explained Aubrey, "just passed out. I don't know what to do."

Aubrey moved and let the paramedics do their thing. Soon after, Laura coughed and woke up a little. "Mom."

"You okay?" Asked Aubrey.

"Yeah..." Said Laura as her voice trailed off. She was completely fine after about an hour, but she didn't speak for the rest of the night.
