I remember screaming, lots of it. I remember everything so clearly, a little too clearly for my liking. I remember my parents frightened faces. Telling, shouting at me, to run out of the house as fast as I could. I did as I was told, not knowing what would happen.
It's okay, I thought, everything will be okay. I will make it out, my parents will make it out, and we'll all be okay.
I rushed outside, still thinking my parents were right behind of me. Once I fell out into the cool night air, I let out a breath I didn't realize I've been holding.
I turned around, just about to call up to my father, only he wasn't there. A sudden burst of flames sprung out of the house. I leapt back. Something floated down to my feet.
"Mother? Father?" I trembled.
I remember hearing sirens, more screaming and shouting, but I kept my focus on what had landed on my bare toes. A paper labeled, My Disney Bucket List.
"Abby? Abby dear, you need to get ready for school," I heard my aunt call. "Abby, darling, are you up?"
"Yes Aunt, I'm up," I said.
"Okay, we'll leave in about thirty minutes," she replied.
"Sure," I sighed.
With that I got out of bed and into my closet. I chose out a pair of skinny jeans and a black tank-top. I put those on and then slipped on a gray hoodie that said "Oregon" and some converse.
I quickly brushed my straight, black hair and then grabbed my bag.
I slowly made my way toward my door and pulled it open. I walked downstairs, took an apple from the kitchen already panting.
"I'm ready to go," I said to my uncle who was reading the newspaper on the table.
"Okay, we'll leave once your aunt finishes getting ready," he said.
"I'll just wait in the car," I told him.
"Sure, here's the keys," he said, tossing me they car keys.
I walked to the front door and opened it. A breeze blew in my face and I breathed in the fresh air. I made it to the car and unlocked it.
I waited several minutes before Aunt Jane and Uncle Patrick came out.
Once they got situated, we took off toward my school. I put my ear buds in and started listening to music. When Backseat Serenade by All Time Low came on, I smiled a little. I listened to the song over and over again until we reached my destination.
"Bye sweetie, have a good day," my aunty and uncle chorused.
"Same to you guys, bye," and with that I took off toward the building.
Author's Note:
Well, That was the first part! Yayayay! Sorry it was so short, I wrote it late at might and my parents were getting really mad so had to make it quick. And by the way, Backseat Serenade by All Time Low is an awesome song and one of my favorites. I like those kind band songs just to let you know. So anyway, hope you like the first part and the song!
